The hot new rumor is that Jr is definately not going to...Hendricks, Ginn or RCR. Rumor has it that Jr will be joing his pal Tony Stewart at the Gibbs stable, and further more, sans Busweiser.

Also, Ryan Newman is on the short list to fill the #8 seat.

Hmmm...he doesn't seem to fit in with that group but who knows. Burton & Bowyer aren't prototypical RCR drivers, either.

I really can't see Jr. at Gibbs with Tony, not a good mix there. I still think Childress has it locked up, only time will tell i guess.

:) Just wait. When this happens, you'll all feel like a durn fool. And me, I'll just say, see, I told you so. :)

Hey Roo, aren't you the same guy that said Jr would not leave DEI. :)

Btw, I am going to VIR next Tuesday to see DEI, HMS, Evernham, And Gibbs racing do some all day testing. Session runs from 9:00am to 5:30pm. Should be fun.

Who me? You talkin' to me? Roo? Oh, I get it...uh, well, uh let's see...hey, can't a guy change his mind?

But that's my story and I'm stickin' with it...for the time being. Remember, I said it's a hot rumor, not a fact, but when, I mean if it does happen, you heard it here first. :)

Oh and btw, the wife and I just missed the Harv, as in Kevin at Hanes Mall this afternoon. They had quite a big setup there for Coca Cola. The wife said that someone would probably come in for autographs but I didn't think so. However, it appears that I was wrong. Who me? Anyway, heard on the news tonight Kev was there. Of course, he lives up there close to you, so have you been over to visit with him yet? :D

My wife's sister (and her husband) and their daughter from Penna. were visiting us all last week. I took the daughter over to see Harvick's house and we took some pictures. While we were there a guy in a Chevy pickup came in the gate and drove down the driveway. I told the daughter that it muct have been Harvick as he wasn't driving the pickup well. :)

I've heard Kyle Busch is contemplating on leaving HMS, and it doesn't involve the Jr factor. If this rumor is true, then that would open the door for Jr to go to HMS. I don't see Jr going to Gibbs with the Budweiser deal, RCR just merged with DEI, which Jr is leaving DEI, so it doesn't make sense for him to join RCR. The main contenders are HMS and Ginn, but if those deals don't work out, then I see him creating his own team. But I'm not counting out RCR, they may have something up their sleeve.

RCR is not merging with DEI. They are building a engine facility together. That is the way I get it anyway.

I heard they merged for an engine program. So why would Jr go to RCR, when they will use some of DEI's equipment? The main reason Jr left DEI was because of the performance and equipment.

I'm hearing from some of my sources in North Carolina that Dale Earnhardt, Jr. WILL join Hendrick. Maybe as a 5th car, or maybe driving for Ginn. :idunno:

But the team limit is 4 if I'm correct. In order for that to happen, Hendrick would have to release one of his drivers, and rumor says it may be Kyle Busch. But until I see it on NASCAR.com, the Jr saga will continue to be rumors.

I still think Jr will go to RCR and drive the #33

When that does happen, just think of all those avid Jr fans who will have to totally redo their racing room. Been there done that with gobs of Coors, Budweiser, McDonalds and Dodge stuff. Guess who those were for? Give you a hint, they didn't call him Million Dollar Bill for nothing. :beerbang:

Ginn emerging as serious player

CONCORD, N.C. (AP) - If Dale Earnhardt Jr. ends up at Joe Gibbs Racing, team officials are adamant it won't be with sponsor Budweiser.

Bobby Ginn, however, has no problem with a beer sponsorship and is still hotly pursuing NASCAR's most coveted free agent.

And Richard Childress? He had nothing to say on the subject Saturday at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

With Hendrick Motorsports apparently out of the Earnhardt sweepstakes - Hendrick has four drivers under contract and claims he isn't looking to drop any of them - three other Chevrolet teams have emerged as the front-runners to sign NASCAR's most popular driver.

JGR could be the leading candidate, but owner Joe Gibbs insisted Saturday night he won't accept a beer sponsorship at his family business. Earnhardt is closely associated with Budweiser, his longtime sponsor, and the company can leave Dale Earnhardt Inc. with him at the end of the season.

"For me personally, and my background and everything that has happened to me, it wouldn't fit me," Gibbs said. "It doesn't mean it's not fine for everybody else."

Gibbs officials also said they won't be expanding to four teams in 2008. That means they'd have to dump a driver to sign Earnhardt, and J.J. Yeley could be on the hot seat.

JGR fields cars for two-time series champion Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin, who finished third in the standings during last year's rookie season. Yeley has yet to find the same success as his teammates, and is in the final year of his contract with Gibbs.

He heads into Sunday night's Coca-Cola 600 ranked 20th in the standings, but team president J.D. Gibbs said Yeley controls his own destiny with the team.

"We have invested in J.J. for years, and for him to be successful would be awesome," J.D. Gibbs said. "Nobody wants to see J.J. succeed more than we do. We went to J.J. and said, 'No matter what happens, if we go out there and we run well together, you're here forever.' "

Ginn, meanwhile, has room for Earnhardt and has planned to expand to four teams since taking over majority ownership of the team known as MB2 Motorsports last season.

The Florida-based land developer said several weeks ago he would pursue Earnhardt, and Ginn Racing has emerged as a viable option through on-track performance by Mark Martin and Ginn's desire to field a winner.

Ginn said Saturday he's had "exploratory conversations" with Kelley Earnhardt Elledge, but has yet to speak to Earnhardt himself. He said he never would have taken it this far if he didn't think his organization was a perfect fit.

"If I had no ability to do it, I wouldn't have embarrassed myself or wasted his time," Ginn said. "I believe we can support it and I believe he wants to win and I want to win. You put two people together that are damned determined to get there, that's a combination that has generally led to successes.

"I don't want to bring him here, if I had any opportunity to do it, and make him believe he can't win a championship."

Jay Frye, general manager at Ginn, is a St. Louis native who once worked for Anheuser-Busch, the parent company for Budweiser. Ginn believes Frye's past relationship with A-B, and Ginn's entertainment ties to the resorts he owns and golf tournaments he hosts makes it a perfect fit.

But he firmly believes Earnhardt is the most important part of the puzzle.

"You can build great cars and have great teams, but you've got to have that spark plug that is going to put you in the winning," Ginn said. "To go after a winner, even if we had no chance to get him, it's like asking a pretty girl for a date. You have nothing to lose, you might as well ask. But I wouldn't have asked if I didn't think I could support him."

Childress, who said Friday he had yet to speak to the Earnhardts, wouldn't give an update Saturday on any discussions. With three cars under the RCR roof, he said he'll be at four in 2008 with or without Earnhardt behind the wheel.

"Our plan was to always be at four next season, that's something we had in the works way before Junior became available," Childress said. "Who knows who will drive it? I might just have to dust off my helmet."

I think that is Jr ends up at Ginn it'll be a perfect for him. he'll not be in "daddys shadow" at RCR, ht'll have his long standing sponsor still, he'll be the #1 focus of that race shop.

Heck, Ginn could be Jr's Richard Childress.

Okay... so exactly what was said there ?? NOTHING !!!!!

The gist of the article is:

Earnhardt might go to HMS, or he might not.
Earnhardt might go with RCR, or he might not.
Earnhardt might go with JGR, or he might not.
Earnhardt might go with Ginn racing, or he might not.

Thank goodness the word will be out within forty-five days, or it might not.

HO HUM !!!!!! These lengthy articles are written by those who must write stories and meet deadlines with hard core facts and specific details.

Or they might not. :D

My gut feeling is that Jr will end up with Ginn. Ginn makes things happen, Just look at Mark Martin. While Roush screwed around and told Mark it would be tough to do, Ginn stepped up and said if this is what you want you got it. he made it look very simple. The early results show just how strong Ginn could be in the next few years.

Ginn is going to be a tough team to beat.

You are right about one thing Ginn beats the heck out of Roush. Roush made Mark feel washed up. Now look at him go.:beerbang:

This is an interesting soap opera we have going on here. The funny thing is there will be at least 200 rumors that will go around before only one final decision is made. Until that decision is made, the rest is all conjecture.

I say he'll be going to Ginn. We know Ginn has the pocketbook to buy him from another team is he wants to do so.
