Hot Pass at Las Vegas Race

Hoping someone can lend a little insight into the hot pass situation in Las Vegas. I have had them at my home track in Charlotte many times, but have no experience in Vegas. Does anyone know if you have access to the Neon Garage with the hot pass, and will I have access to concessions for beer. Also, anyone have any idea what it would be like getting a cab back to the strip after the race. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I figured as much. I'm on the east coast so they are closed at the moment but I will give it a try tomorrow. Thanks for the reply.

Neon garage is basically for just about everyone. A hot pass gets you access to pit road during the race. I am not sure if you get actual garage access with that or not. Vegas has a tunnel that goes under the track so you can get back to the grand stands. With a hotpass I would watch from pit road. Wear sunscreen and a wide brim old man hat would be optimal. I watched the race there last year from the pits. It was really cool. Just saw your last question. Vegas sucks for traffic. They force all traffic down the road to the southest of the track rather than back out to i15. After the race I would plan on an hour cab ride back to the strip. I have no idea what that would cost. Actually imo it would be better to leave to the north of the track then get on i15 and head south again. Whoever dreamed up the traffic directing there needs to get a blanket party

This is great info. Much appreciated. Do you think I am better off just renting a car the day of the race rather than messing with the cabs.

Don't most tracks offer a bus service from a local mall or somewhere?

I wouldn't rely on public transportation getting in or out to pick you up. Your best bet is to tailgate at your car once the race is over and wait for the parking lot to empty out.
Leaving the track is a nightmare. They run you several miles out of your way in a gridlocked maze of cars.

What Ted said, Buses get priority in traffic (most places). I have used Busses on numerous occasions at other tracks and it worked out great for me.

I am not talking about public transportation here, the buses I reference, will cost you 35 to $50 per head (last time I did it) to use and are like greyhound style coaches. I am sure the Vegas Speedway website has listings of this type service or via phone call can direct you to them.

But also as Bobby Ford said, tailgating is also a great way to do it as well, chill after the race and cook some burgers and dogs have a few brewskees and hen leave at your leisure.
