how about this?

I sure hope so. It can really help Jeff Gordon get back on track with the points race.

Never happen zoe.He is sandbagging so his car can win. Then the only job left will be to part the Red Sea for his fans.

No, make the championship watchable for change, he doesn't need to win AGAIN

I've been wondering when someone was going to say that..

So, no arguing then?

:D

Seriously though, I'm surprised that I haven't heard about it yet. Just wanting for that excuse with Gordon hasn't been winning....

I guess I just don't stuff my drivers paraphanalia down others craw.Ok Fergy there is your argument. On the serious side I think Jeff is a good race car driver who had all the pieces fall together at one time.I don't think he has all that going for him now.;)

No, not at all....he was due a bad year. Every driver has their fair share of them.
Vision this one fergy,I have been a fan of Martin longer than I can remember some times, good years, bad years, and worse years. He has finnaly found a good clean open season thanks to Nascars infractions.I know if he wins it this year a lot will say,he didn't have any competition that was worth a hoot. Then I will come back and look at the posters who crowed the loudest about there bubble gum heros.;) :)

Honestly, I wouldn't mind seeing Martin win a championship at all, even though he drives for Rousch and Ford. I think the competition is there,...you still have Stewy, Newman (when he doesn't blow his engine), Busch, and Jr (until lap 250) running strong.

He has no reason at all not to think that he didn't have any competition. And the fans shouldn't think that way either.

But his biggest competition is gonna be NASCAR.

50% of the time this has been true thru his whole career.Mark has given something to Nascar that they won't acknowledge untill he retires,or dies.Kinda like Vincent Van Gogh.:(

I have such a great fondnes of him.I have seen him reach out to touch a youngster when others would not.My memories of him are the kid that cameras missed. With the likes of Earnhardt,Bill Elliot,Etc.Always around him in the garage. Some of my best photos are him with many legends. It makes me feel like I am in good company when I respect him.:)

He is one of the last great drivers out there....maybe some of him will rub off on Kennseth....(not that Kennseth isn't cool or anything ;) )

Kenseth is very much like Mark.......Mark was sort of quiet and "unnoticed" when he first came to Winston Cup. Lot of similarities there.:)

I do believe that is his understudy for sure fergy.Mat will tell you he learned a few pointers from Mark.:)

In my not so humble at times opinion, Mark Martin is the very best driver in Winston Cup. Has been for years. I believe him to be one of the best in all of auto racing history.

As for the Gordo.....I believe that in time history will show that once the playing field was leveled the kid in the 24 car was a very good, tho not great driver. He will remain a legend of nascar but that legend will never eclipse the accomplishments of those he competed against in lessor machines, Mark Martin included.

As for Gordo at Kansas......the 24 is indeed a super-have car....on any given Sunday that car is capable of taking it's driver to the checkered flag first.

lol - Gordon's trying his best while having a bad year for him. He seems much more relaxed and happy with his racing. With some luck he very well could have had another run away year.

I do believe Brooke and him were like oil and water, didn't mix well. I'm sure Brooke will be well compensated for her services also. I think Jeff is also smart enough to have a good lawyer to see she doesn't get near what she's asking for.

I'll go with your comment Ciggie. :)

A shame I missed the first part of Dover... hehe

It's a shame everytime I miss seeing him wreck or go bunches of laps down :D

When that happens it makes the race so much more enjoyable to watch.

Nothing against Gordon, but my favorite Gordon wreck was the time he had the Looney Tunes on the car with the Cromalusion paint scheme at Richmond last year. Just before he crashed, I wondered what it would be like if he got spun around and the car changed colors as he spun. That very lap, Sterling Marlin got into Gordon, and although Bugs Bunny might have gotten a headache, the car looked cool while spinning. It's a shame we don't see the chromalusion on more cars! Hey, if they are going to crash, why not look cool while doing so?

Winston Cup should award a bonus, either monetary, owner points, or better yet both, to the first driver in every race who can punt Jeff Gordon out of the way. lol :D
