I just counted how many I attended this year. Not including practice days or testing, 43 races with at least two more to go. And it could've been a lot more if not for the endless rain in all of July.

Tracks: Ace Speedway (NC), Caraway Speedway (NC), Franklin County Speedway (VA), Hickory Motor Speedway, Kingsport Speedway (TN), Langley Speedway (VA), Lonesome Pine Raceway (VA), Martinsville Speedway (VA), Motor Mile Speedway (VA), Richmond International Raceway (VA), South Boston Speedway (VA), Southern National Motorsports Park (NC), Tri-County Motor Speedway (NC)

Man up... that's only 300 miles. I've done that more than a few times this year. My mileage logs are an absolute comedy.

I'm getting ready to drive down 717 miles for the Snowball.

Cool.

Did you watch the entire thing from the stands or did you get back to your hotel then came back the next morning? How's it work?

I'm intrigue to learn how it all works out for the people that attend these day long event.

I attended roughly 3 or 4 Caraway races, went up to M-Ville twice, and I think that's about it.

2. Lucas Oil Dragboats in May and the NHRA finals last weekend. I suck. I'm gonna try and hit a couple Cup races next year. I haven't been since 2011 and feel like a dick. Haha

If you're there for the whole thing most of the action is down in the infield Fan Zone and camp grounds, although you could watch the whole thing from the stands if you wanted to. They also have reentry passes so if you want to take a break and go over to the beach or something you can.

I've never stayed in town for the whole race since we're there firstly for another event early Saturday morning and can't get my family to stay for the whole thing but I want to next year for the USCR debut.

Challenge considered.

Ticket prices are still good so I'm just considering gas + possible lodging at this point.

0. Nobody to go with, plus the only close tracks (ones that host NASCAR races, anyway) are Watkins Glen and Pocono...ehh. Might make an effort to go to WG next year since it's only about an hour away.

You and me are on the same boat. lol

I've made it to the Pocono race a few times and everytime I've been its a miserable experience with the constant raining and threatening skies.

Andy's job is to go to the track. I do everything I can to scrape up the money to take the family to five NASCAR events a year. If I were paid to go to the track I'd have an impressive list accumulated too. Next year we're down to two events on the schedule. Just a sign of the times.

I go to every race you attend and come back with stories and pics. So remember to relate your adventures on return. :)

This being a widow on limited income stinks --- big time.

Four Nascar event weekends, all but one five flags speedway events and two at Mobile international Speedway.

Loudon twice ...
Pocono once...
Waterford Speedbowl six...
Thompson twice ...
Seekonk once...
Thats enough local and big tracks for one year....
Charlotte again next year...

How was the Toyota Mexico Series race? Really wanted to make it out to that, hopefully next year.

It was quite a cool event. They didnt have the best equipment but raced hard and put on quite a show. I will be more than willing to watch another race if they come to town again.

They are coming back for the spring race in 2014. Have always been interested in that series but always hear bad stories from people i know (including mexicans) discouraging me taking a road trip there, so it would be great to check them out in the states, Doubt that event will last for too many years, no awareness of the series here.

I havent been to Mexico in years I have no intention of ever going back, not a safe place IMO
Hope you get to come out here in the spring. buy your tickets early online and you can get some amazing deals.
Pretty sure you will enjoy PIR ---------------- we sure do

Methinks Andy created this tread just try to imrpess people. It's like when someone asks you what you'd do with a million dollars or if you won the lottery. They don't care what you'd do. They just want to tell you what they'd do with the money.

Methinks Andy created the thread to see what tracks other people on here go to, whether it's NASCAR, Indy, short tracks or what not. Andy is quite aware other people don't have the income to go to races and don't live within a stone's throw of several tracks.

Charlotte-All Star Race
Bristol-Night Race
Hagerstown Speedway, MD
Lincoln Speedway, PA

Fun year, can't wait for it to warm up again

Hagerstown is a cool little track. You ever been to Potomac or Winchester? Or are you up in Pennsylvania?

And Franklin County :p sucks we screwed up that one... should've cancelled practice and qualifying. Hope you give us another chance next year. You won't regret going to the Late Model race at Martinsville though... it's usually the best race of the year.

0 sprint cup races. as much as I appreciate the show, I cannot justify the cost/benefit analysis.

andy: i'm jealous. you have obvious short track and racing passion, and have positioned yourself well to be involved in the sport. the only problem I have....

you need to get dirty!!!

that's where I have spent my time and money. adams county speedway, Wilmot speedway, ump summernationals, lucas oil late models, Knoxville late model nationals...

racing. I love it. but it certainly doesn't take the "NASCAR" logo to make it a good time.

I love dirt tracks... lost count of how many races I've been to at Potomac Speedway.

9 ARCA Racing series races (8 tracks)
9 K&N Pro Series races (9 tracks)
6 Canadian Tire series races (6 tracks)
5 WoO Late Model races (2 tracks)
3 Rolex sports car races (3 tracks)
2 IndyCar races (2 tracks)
2 WoO Sprint Car races(1 track)
2 Super Dirtcar Big Block Modified races (1 track)
1 Whelen modified race
1 Traxxas TORC race
1 USAC Silver crown race
1 American LeMans race
1 NASCAR Truck race
and
V8 Supercars at COTA

a little over 40 races. Not sure how to count the V8 Supercars event, it was 4 races over 2 days.

No Nascar but all races combined I probably went to over 20. I don't travel that much. I'm lucky that I have five or six tracks within easy driving distance.

This year? 398! Okay, so maybe that's a lie. :) I just went to two. The Martinsville Spring race and a small dirt track here in Arkansas called West Siloam Springs speedway that no one has likely heard of. I'm currently planning a trip to Talladega with my dad next year in May. We'll likely make a it a five day trip, watching the Arca, Nationwide and Sprint cup races. Got the savings started and I've already put in vacation for it. I'm in the same boat as most others. Money is tight and at the Sprint Cup level...Kansas and Texas are the only two tracks within an 8 1/2 hour drive.

none unfortunately. Sucks not being able to drive. I'd go every Friday and Saturday if I could.

Can't say that I have. This was my first year attending local tracks and I loved every second of it. Free camping, tailgate all day then some racing for $20.....needless to say cant beat that. I live right outside hell aka DC, I'm surprised I didn't hear about Potomac, I'll have to put that on my list for next year.

Whereabouts? I used to live in Waldorf.

It's a shame you never got to go to Old Dominion Speedway.
