Ive heard this so many times, only for him to fall off 6 races in & savor a decent finish by Homestead. Not getting hyped just yet.

Assuming you actually do still care about the championship this year, look at it this way. He's won at Homestead before. All he has to do is make sure he does enough to be one of the Final Four (God, it pains me so greatly to even use their stupid terminology :rolleyes:) and then win at Homestead again. He's been kicking butt all season long so I see no reason why he can't do it.
 
Gordon certainly looks championship worthy this year, but unfortunately for him, the new Chase format greatly dilutes the value of a good body of work during the season. The previous Chase formats did that too, but to nowhere near the degree of this new one.
 
I don't see it happening, unfortunately. I think he'll make it to the championship race as a finalist though.
