How much money does a F1 driver get a year?

I heard somewhere that Michael got like 54 million or something.
 
Yeah, he got $52 million last year. Highest paid athlete in the world.
 
The 07.08.02 issue of "Forbes", listed MS as the #2 highested paid athlete in the world, grossing an estimated US$67 million in 2001 - eclipsed only by Tiger Woods at US$69 million. Ever seen a Schumi Loreal commercial? "He's worth it."
 
I was asked this question on a different thread but is the 52 million just in race earnings or is it from sponsorships or whatever?
 
Alright, we know that MS gets $50+million, and JV gets some $20 million or so from BAR, but what about the minnows like Mark Webber or Felipe Massa or Enrique Bernoldi? Do they get a salary from there teams or from their personal sponsors? Do they get bonuses from each point they score?

It's from both, just as Gordon's $6 million is.
 
Thanks. That is alot of money. I wonder if he gets to have a free Ferrari? I say that because if Marlin win the Winston Cup, he gets a Dodge Viper.

well, i know Button is getting around 2 or 2 1/2 m next year for BAR, so i would guess the real bottom feeders are making 1m to 500,000

I don't know what you pay for yours there, but if you live in the North Eastern part of the states, you pay a FORTUNE!!! Paul, what're ya'll paying up there ? It's a $5 bill here in Pa.

You mean one carton cost $5,80 in Pa,one pack of cigarettes cost $5 here in Iceland and in Germany about $1,90
