George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi was going up to bed when his wife told him he had left the light on in the shed. He started heading out to the shed when he realized there were people in the shed stealing his property. He phoned the police immediately. The person who answered the phone at the police station asked him if there were any intruders in the house, and he told them not yet. They told him there were no officers available at the moment so he should just lock his doors and an officer would be there when they could get there. He waited 30 seconds and called them back. "I just called you about some burglars a minute ago," he said "well, I just shot them all". Within a few minutes there were several police units and an armed response team at his door. The police caught the burglars red-handed. "I thought you said you shot them all" one of the officers on the seen said. "I thought you said there were no officers available" said Mr Phillips. This is allegedly a true story, although anything you get on the net is a 50/50 proposition at best. But true or not, it is pretty funny.
