HS and 71. Downforce versus balance.

I have finally figured out how come I get such a bad push at high speed. I was able to rub 2 brain cells together for a thought. LOL

The faster ya go, the more REAR downforce, which is going to take weight off of the front end, you get.

Now I just need to figure out how to find that happy area between downforce and balance. Really wish I could build a wind tunnel. Oh well, once we are moved.

Nothing in the rules says we cannot move the spoiler forward or backwards. Seems if we move the spoiler forward that would create less downforce on the rear deck and maybe move some on to the rear of the roof and give a better balance.

What do you guys think?

Also, there is not enough room to run a ducting for cooling because of the front diff. What about grabbing air from the rear of front wheel area?

Scoop it off both front wheelwells and eliminate half the front windshield hole. Use half or 3/4 polyvinyl tubing (aquarium store or home depot?) to direct it right at the head but remember, the more curves the more velocity will be decreased. Just tape it in place and give er a go.

Also, because the tubing will be coming from the bottom up it be instant interior ground effects.

As long as ya don't push the wing so far forward that ya loose forward bite coming off....Sounds good to me.

You can either move the spoiler forward, which will lessen its effect on the rear downforce a bit......

or better yet move the body forward on the chassis. This will decrease rear and increase front downforce all at the same time.

Or if all else fails, ventilate the rear spoiler a bit.

Not sure that's legal. They are pretty strict about the exterior of the body. Do like the part about changing the center point of the car tho.

Cannot ventalite the spoiler. Off to to the big Charlotte track. 1.5 mile at 1/10th scale. Will let you guys know the results. Hope the car comes back in one piece. LOL

Seriously thinking about trying the Monte Carlo body with just the small blade aka stock Spoiler tonight. Remember how that body was always loose? It might work with no big spoiler. Low speed/medium speed? Who cares? the track is what matters. Just need to learn that at low speed it handles like crap.

Glad you guys like taking air from the wheel wells. That big hole in the windshield has to be hurting us.

Put the AE engine in with the slide carb. The Novarossi has a ton of HP but if you can't get thru the turns, HP don't mean squat. Checking the rears, we are wearing them out faster then the fronts. That tells me we are sliding them .Am I wrong with this thought?

Do not feel we have been getting all the HP to the rear. The push is there whether it is foams or HPI "X" rubbers.

Out of here. Catch ya Saturday am.

Thank. I would be lost with out ya.
