Dayum, peoples have done lost their minds. Just got back from filling my 5 gallon gas can for my generator. I really don't think this is going to be all that bad but if I don't get gas I know we'll lose power.:)
Woman, late 30's or so, went off on me, that I was taking all the gas filling up my truck, [I didn't] and 5 gallons more. Told her to chill out.
4 years in the service, 30-35 in garages/race track pits and I heard things come out of her mouth I've never heard before.

Being the gentleman I am I told her to go home and wash down a handful of Midol with a bottle of Jack,,,;)

You would think that this is worse than hurricane Katrina the way it's on the news. Slow news day

The media's desperate for a hurricane to make landfall in the US. It's a win-win for the cable nets. It's seriously entertaining to watch the reporters getting blown around if you're a viewer, and it's higher ratings for the cable nets... which is why I'm kind of surprised MSNBC dropped the ball on this story.

This is nowhere near as bad as the coverage of Tropical Storm ERNESTO in 2006. 2006 was a quiet season, and the media predicted doom and gloom the year after the curve-buster 2005 season so they had to have something. When Tropical Storm Ernesto hit us, the media acted like the sky was falling even though it was a whimpy little tropical storm. I've seen puppies that were scarier than that storm was, but it sure didn't stop the media.

FREAK OUT!!!

That's funny because it's not supposed to be a big storm for you guys at all. MAYBE Tropical Storm conditions.
