Obama has somehow gained control of Bush's hurricane machine. He's going to hit NOLA just to remind everyone how evil Bush is and that McCain is the same. It's all just a clever political move to become POTUS... ;)

Mayor Nagin speaks up

Residents who try to ride out Hurricane Gustav will be making the biggest mistake of their lives, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin warned on Saturday.

Nagin ordered a mandatory evacuation of New Orleans, directing residents of a city still recovering from Hurricane Katrina to flee the approaching Hurricane Gustav. Developing.

You need to be scared. You need to be concerned. You need to get your butts out of New Orleans. This is the storm of the century,” Nagin said.

That is so scary. I've heard from some people living down there that they're much better organized to get people out of there this time. Buses, places for pets, etc. I just hope people heed the warning and not be too stubborn. They should be scared and get out now. I'm praying that storm takes a turn and does something which isn't predicted which turns out for the good for once.

They have no excuse to get out this time there are plenty of busses for ALL. The citizens have had a weeks notice to prepare for this.

Hell, I'm 200 miles from the coast in East Texas, and I'm getting prepared.
We're not supposed to have the extreme winds, but flooding is a major possibility.
I've stocked up on canned foods --- we have propane to warm/cook. We have the water coolers filled and the ice chests ready if the power goes out.

I've moved all the potted plants to shelter --- don't need them flying around. Deck furniture is next.

We may be over-preparing --- but I'd rather be ready that caught with my pants down.

our pastor said that all our affiliated churches and campgrounds in mid to south texas are full with evac's. Our churchis now on the list for evacs to come to, since we have a full kitchen, gym, and daycare. It very much appears it may be a cat5 when it hits. I fear the levies fail again.

I was able to get this from TRLs scrapbook of her most recent trip...

We begin our trip at

But only after visiting the night spot next door

The neighbors next door were a little noisy

I really had a decision to make on whether I should stay

It was really something I had to think about

But then the bed was really comfortable

After all I was supposed to be meeting my friend

But he was late and I was getting anxious

I just hope he wasn't tempted by the girls outside

Finally he shows and we turn the lights off

And so ends TRLs tail, I mean tell or is it tale... :D

The following is a fictional account and should not be taken as depicting real people or actual events. Right TRL <wink><wink>

Here's the situation: Gas prices are going to suck, and New Orleans is going to get hit worse than in Katrina.
