to racing! Nascar is getting their medicine! Cars all strung out over the track. I hope the cup boys do the same. Take notice nascar.. now make some more changes.

I guess I don't make points clearly. Point is that cars can hang 1/2 way around the track for the majority of the race and not attend the actual race itself.. Then in the last few laps they can go to the front and score a very high rank in the race as though they had been in the front all race.
For my own taste I'd rather see cars in the back not have the chance to get to the front. I'd rather they had to race as hard as their cars could go just to stay near the front.

Just as an afterthought. I am waiting for the top 20 cup cars to go all together in a seperate pack 1-1/2 miles from the front pack tomorrow.. Spend about 75 laps back there and see what nascar thinks about that. With the present rules the 2-1/2 mile tracks should be a one tank of gas race! Now that would be a race would it not?

Betsy, the rules for the Busch cars are nothing like what they are for the Cup cars. The only way you will see cars strung out tomorrow is if there is plenty of green flag racing without any cautions. They tried to correct this with the smaller fuel tank, but that hasn't proven to work in the past. We'll see how they run tomorrow, but I wouldn't bet that you will see anything like what you saw today.
The Busch cars had an aero package very similar to the package the Cup cars had back in either 1999 or 2000 (I forget which year exactly) when the Talladega race went caution free and the whole pack of cars that were still racing crossed the start finish line in about 2 seconds at the checkered flag!! The vertical fin on the roof and a wicker on the spoiler.........the cars punched a big hole in the air and the draft was easy to pick up. Cars could suck up and get a run and pretty much pass at will..........as long as they had a buddy with them!! Great package, if you ask me!!
Yep! And very few of them were won by who HAPPENED to be in front ion that one lap! The winner was usually the best car on that one day. The rules changes have brought about a winner that may or MAY NOT be the best car that one day.
I give you yesterday! Was Jeffy really the best car? Now if he had won by 3 or 4 laps we would all answer YES! But in reality, after watching the race, he just happened to be the one in front when the checkers flew.
I had reference to the guys that did not race and stayed in the rear till the race was nearly over. ONE of them got to the front and won the race.
My opinion is that the rules should make it impossible for a car (or truck) to do that. One must stay up all race long or get left out completely.

I think Jeff did have one of the best cars yesterday. That he chose not to showcase it the entire race is smart --- why use up your equipment in the early stages of the race?
Junior did not have a great car until the end --- he said so. Pete worked on it, and got it right when it counted.
Mickey said that Jeff's car was faster than Tony's. He thought Jeff could pass Tony whenever he wanted.
This plate racing is an intense game of chess --- you make a move and your opponent counters. You don't want to expose your queen until the end, when it counts the most.
