So, there was a high school baseball game where a pitcher beaned a better in the head (reportedly it was the third time he had hit one of their players in the head) and the batter almost instantaneously throws his bat right back at the pitcher just about as hard as the pitcher had thrown the ball. This was a night game that was very highly attended. You'd think that at least one of these people in attendance would have shot a good video of this, right? Well, that's where my initial disappointment comes in.

The only video that surfaces comes from way the hell out by the right fielder, apparently, and looks like it may have been shot using a 5 year old phone. I've seen better video of Sasquatch.

You'd also think that, especially if it was indeed the third time this dude had beaned one of their batters in the head, someone would have laid this pitcher out cold, right? Nope, yet more disappointment. Everybody ran out to the middle of the field and stood around, probably yelling at each other and posturing. You gotta have your teammates' backs better than that. Everyone has to know that they can not throw at your guys with impunity. Otherwise, somebody is going to end up getting seriously hurt or killed by pitches to the head area.

Third time he beaned a opposing player in the same game? Kid who got beaned wearing a helmet? I'd almost bet there's better video floating around and the pitchers team is bragging about it.
This pitcher might get his when he least expects it.

Shooting anything at night on anything is difficult. Just taking pictures, I have to use a $500 flash.

Your disappointed because there no video? No brawl?

I would be disappointed that the pitcher's coach hadn't pulled him, or the ump had taken the initiative to remove him from the game. The coach of the batters that were hit should have stepped up also.

After hitting the second batter, he should have been gone.

Yeah, I was disappointed in that also, I just didn't mention it there. Hitting one batter can be excused as an accident, unless there is a history there or another reason to suspect it was intentional. But, the second time you hit somebody, you are done. Even if it wasn't intentional, your continued presence in the game constitutes a threat to the safety of the opposing players. That is especially true if you hit even one of them in the head. And actually, yeah I was disappointed not that there wasn't necessarily a brawl, but that nobody hit the pitcher. He risked the lives of three players by hitting them in the head with pitches. I'm not saying that someone should have been nearly as reckless with his health as he had been with those players' health, but he should have had something to remember from the incident.

My little league that I coach in has a rule that if a picture hits two batters, he's automatically removed from the game. I'm surprised high school doesnt have that rule. But then again, the coaches should have stepped in.

When my kids played the pitcher got one errant pitch. If it happened again he was out in left field and never pitched in a game again.
