I guess I owe everyone an apology.

Just an apology for my misconduct the other night. I apologize for my outbreak with Paul and the use of the infamous "F" word. A little unusual for me........but not a word foreign to my vocabulary. I will refrain from that word (and other extremely offensive words) in the future. I won't promise to not be colorful though. Forgiven?

Hey have you paid Mike Helton your $5,000 yet!??:) Do you know how many donuts that would have bought! Glad to see you back, just in time for duty this weekend!

Finally got into all of my firefighting classes. They are going well. I am learning alot of stuff, some I want to know and other stuff I don't. It is going to be a very hard career and yet I can't wait.

Easy careers are boring........make for boring lives. NEVER go for the easy! Challenge everything!! You'll be much happier in life for it.:)

I think also what the feeling would be like going home and thinking that you saved a person's life or home.

Be careful mustang........I know you live in Tehachipie and know how rugged these CA canyons are but Geeze I can't imagine fighting a fire on a 60% slope. The aero guys don't have it any easier either. I'm a pilot myself and know the dangers in canyons......add the horrific heat rising and up drafts plus the sudden lose of weight when they drop their water or fosscheck!! Just be careful, buddy.:)

I don't really want to do wildland fires. I want to do the structureal fires. The problem with being a wildland firefighter is you can be gone for 5 monthes on fire duty. Sure the pay is good but I want to be around my family. Then in the off-season, you don't have a job. I am thinking about doing it anyway for a few seasons just to get experience then go around California looking for fire jobs in the cities. I would love to work in Bakersfield and live in Tehachapi still.

What kinds of airplanes do you fly? My brother just started flying little censnas(?) a few years ago. My grandpa used to fly B-47s, F-100s, F-86s, T-39s, T-33s, and KC-97s in the Air Force.

Most of my flight time is in single engine land aircraft......like what your brother is learning in..........I was a flight instructor for about 3 years. I have quite a bit of time in light twins and a fair amount of time in medium turbo prop transport. Sort of varied in type of aircraft and type of flying......haven't flown in years though. My flight time and five bucks will get you a cappachino at Starbucks any day!!:D

My father was a captain for Continental Airlines.......flew DC-10's.

That's really cool. I love flying. My brother likes to do this move where we go weightless. It is so cool seeing a floating pencil right in front of your face.

Yeah that is fun.......the engine quits if you do it long enough in a Cessna. The fuel is gravity fed and it "runs out of gas"!! I learned early on not to "demonstrate" that to students because they would get panicky!!:) As soon as the plane gets positive g's the engine restarts.....but the harm has already been done!! I've done some real dumb stuff in airplanes in my time......how does that go? Young and dumb!!:D

I know.......but just know us "old ums" have done everything you young ums are thinking of doing. Called experience.......how do you think your dad knows what you are up to?:D

Time to go watch CSI with my cutiepie24.......talk at you tomorrow. Nighty night!!:)

No apology needed DE, that was a wierd night but we get over that quickly as friends on the forum. We all make goofs!
