... "realist" is more accurate.

And, no, it's not good. :(

pessimist - A tendency to stress the negative or unfavorable or to take the gloomiest possible view

Here it goes.

I was supposed to go to race with friend (very cute friend for that matter;)). Haven't heard from friend in past few days, so I call friend. I get no answer. I'm starting to get a little bit concerned.

No later than five minutes after I paid for the race tickets, I get a call. Turns out friend I was going with is in the hospital and it's not for eating cherries and smelling roses.

So, now, I feel obligated to go an hour out to SMC to visit in the hospital, and the race is tomorrow.

So now, I have a ticket I paid for and have no use for. And, my Sprint Cup plans have been washed away.

Add to that, gas prices are up to $3.71/gal. so driving to SMC (which is as far away, in another direction, as the racetrack) is going to blow.

I knew my plans would fall apart. I thought of every possible way and came up with a backup plan for each. So, the one thing I wasn't prepared for happens.

:sigh: Figures

 Andy, you are truely a piece of work. Racing? Visiting friend in hospital? Man, that sure is a toss up isn't it?

Pessimist = Andy = negative

No doubt I'm going to visit my friend in the morning. That's no toss-up for me.

Andy- buy a helicopter. You can land in the hospital's parking lot (you're a visitor, parking in a visitor lot..who care's what you're "driving"), then fly over to the track as ditto.

This is exact thing happened to my boyfriend and me last year. It was his last race of the season (he had a chance to win the trophy) and I ended up in hospital the night before, so he blew the races off for me.

Anyways, I hope your friend is alright! Everything will work out!! :)

Andy, you would really do yourself a lot of good to try and post something positive every day. Before you know it that little dark cloud that seems to follow you everywhere may not be as big. And maybe a little sunshine can break thru and elevate what you portray as a miserable life.
All I know your constant droning is really depressing. Every morning that you are able to walk out your house should be one of joy not just something else to ***** about.
Its getting to where I don't even read your posts because I know they will just be some off the wall crap where someone or some thing had done you a wrong. And, obviously others are starting to feel the same way.
You are in my prayers. :)

Wow... you know it's bad when BP posts a touchy-feely reply.... I can really feel the love... sniff sniff... I'm a little teary right now... sorry...

Andy, what I think BP was trying to say was:

The sun will come out.... tomorrow....

Things are rough all over, but if I can't post something at least on topic and hopefully, sometimes silly or even funny, I'd rather not post at all. :)
