..but I expect big things from Jamie McMurray this year. Anybody with me?

No, not really. I like Jamie and all, but I don't see him as being the next Ryan Newman or Jimmie Johnson. Sorry. ^_^

He just about did something that neither Newman or Johnson has done yet... he almost won the Brickyard 400! .. but almost doesn't count, so yeah... I expect Jamie to win a few. Maybe not the championship, cause that's for Harvick, but I see him winning a few races this year.

Jamie Mac and Ganassi will get a little better each year >> I forsee Jamie winning a race or two in 2004!

Jamie has a hottie for a woman too!

Jamie Outclasses Harvick by a MILE. Last year at Darlinton in the Busch Car >> Jamie and Todd Bodine had a crash each other finish and Todd came out the winner >> Jamie congradulated Todd and went on his merry way >> Harvick would have thrown a Fit like a 3 year old Just like he always does!

.. your trying your hardest to start something, aren't ya?

Yeah, slick-nick he is. That's all he knows how to do. Just skip over his posts and/or just take them with a grain of salt.
Now, back to the topic of the thread. Jamie is a good driver. I feel that his win when he took over driving for Sterling Marlin was an anomolie. He did win fair and square, but he only had hints of winning again. He will have to back up that win with several more for me to change my mind. JMO.

Well, I certainly think Jamie has some talent.

Don't foget that he finished 13th in the final standings in 2003 as a rookie.

I would expect him to improve on that a little and be contending for a top 10 spot this year.

Jamie can Drive and Chip is figuring out the Nascar Gig>>>Look for Improvements real soon!

dont see how you can compare jamie s rookie season to jimmie johnsons or ryan newmans. both of them were in the top 10 and jimmie was in contention to win the championship most of the year also.

Jamie is a good driver and I think he may win a race or 2 this season.

You mean, Stewart would have reacted differently? B)

Anyone recall that 2001 Food City 500 when Stewart plowed into the back of Jeff Gordon's car on pit lane?

Yup, the 2003 WC Champ finished 14th in the standings his rookie year while winning Rookie of the Year. Just because drivers like JJ, Newman & Harvick came out of the blocks faster their first seasons, doesn't dictate they will win a championship sooner or have more talent than Jamie.

I expect big things, and I think he'll back up our suspicions, he's one of my drivers to watch...not only can he drive, but he is a great sport to boot, remember the late season incident between biffle and jamie on the track...locked in the ROTY battle, neither of them made a peep!

He'll do ok but I don't think he's another Ryan Newman.

What do you guys think about Elliott Sadler? He has flashes once in awhile like McMurray.

This probably isn't that much of a reach but I think Kurt Busch is the next big thing. He'll never be the most popular guy out there, but he has great driving skills. I would dare say even better than Kenseth.

Hawk

sadler's been around for longer than i've been a fan, so I can't comment on his career as a whole, but in the time since I started watching the races, let's just say I was always really nervous when he was around one of my drivers. aside from that, he takes his wrecks and failures really well, which is very admirable, especially when he had that streak of bad luck starting at Dega.

Can't dis-agree with you Hawk. Busch was who I thought would win the 2003 championship.

I think Sadler will also breakout in 2004... watch for him to win a few!
