I've seen a lot of name calling this season and I DON'T LIKE IT ONE BIT!

Please be respectful of other member's opinions even if they are diametricly opposed to yours. One can argue a point without name calling, driver bashing, etc.

This is a great place and we want to keep it that way!

Thanks for reading from Kat

Well said.

Kat, I respect your opinion here and that's fine, but what if someone enjoys the name calling? We can be a little over PC'd here and if that's what this place is meant to be, so be it, but as for me, I'd like to know who is the arbitor as far as speech goes. We go through this time and time again, and it seems that you decide what people can say in this forum. I probably shouldn't even post this reply, but damn, I'm one person that is getting very sick of this PC crap and who can say what to whom. I know this forum doesn't have a bill of rights with it and thus freedom of speech isn't part of it, but I say that if you don't like something you read, go to the next thread. Usually when spirited arguments go for a while, they tend to wear down by themselves. If two or three people continue with their insults to each other, then maybe a PM can be sent to warn them. Or why not an outright ban. That seems to be the answer in so many other areas. But Kat, if you are the ultimate arbitor of speech here in this forum, please let me know cause you have censored me before and I didn't like that either. There are plenty of other forums that one can enjoy some spirited chat.

Okay, you can all flame me now.

CB, I received a number of PMs complaining about members calling other members morons and idiots, among other things. The FAQ speak for themselves and member bashing is not allowed.
I sure don't mind a spirited discussion, and move on if I don't care for the reply of one poster or another. I don't even mind the cussin and am far from PC myself.
However, banning (in this instance) was not even considered and the person to whom I addressed a PM agrees and has apologized.

Spirited is one thing and downright rude is another. The thread he speaks of was very heated, I said some things and others did as well. I don't feel it was out of hand on my part and I could care less what someone calls me over the internet (because the way I see it, they're saying it because they're sitting across the country and protected by a computer monitor). People have taken offense to stuff I've said before, and I've done my part to tone it down a bit.

Unfortanently, elements of this forum make it seem like the "Ignorance is Bliss Foundation" and do their part into playing into the stereotype that racing fans are a bunch of rednecks who, when confronted with a differing viewpoint, have nothing productive to say and start flaming people. Not hurting me any, but it does hurt the image of us race fans and it hurts the image of this forum.

.... racing fans are a bunch of rednecks .....

You callin' me a redneck!??

boy... you're gonna get it!

Take THIS! :P

and That!!!

Here's what I think about your spelling!!!

And buckaroo is nothing but a

Personally... this is about the tamest place I've ever found on the internet. I really like this board, and rarely have I felt people have crossed major lines. I'm fine with a little bashing here and there since there are so many different viewpoints and drivers etc. Conflict is going to happen here.

Kat... thanks for all your effort here! I think the mods do a great job around here! Keep it up...

Let em argue as long as it's still sorta talking about racing and not just 47 posts of put downs...

hehe, agree with vanzetti. ain't seen nothing here that bothers me much and certainly a lot less than most boards i've visited at one time or another <g>

I know that you mean that you couldn't care less but then again, maybe you could care less. If that be the case, then you probably should care less and then it wouldn't bother you.

buckaroo trying to teach the world, one at a time the correct usage of this stupid statement "I could care less" Just know that I'm watching...

I don't even mind the cussin

Calling peeps morons or idiots or Robby Gordon lovers (wait isn't that being redundant :) ) I think depends on the conversants and the intent.
As to cussim I'm more the one that will alter your thread if I feel the cussin is beyond the pale. Fortunately folks on here don't use much swear words and some have come into common usage so I don't censor those. Cause we never know what young eyes may be reading.
Besides, an intelligent mind shouldn't have to stoop to cussin to make their point. IMO it only weakens your argument as now you have allowed your emotions to enter in.

Now that's funny

Cause we never know what young eyes may be reading.

That is funny that you're concerned about "young eyes" when you have a avatar of a female wiggling her arse with her cheeks hanging out.

By the way, where is the rule maker on the trivia board? This is a good example of treating one poster one way and others different. Maybe trivia rules where made for just me.

Yelk, the Trivia rules were established by the original poster in that thread, not by Moderators. We all try to abide by them.

What is the deal with the trivia question? I answered the last question and am waiting for it to be confirmed.

That's fine

Good point, but you avoided the other part of my post where a mod was concerned about children reading something here but has an avatar that is vulgar to the children that he is concerned about. Can you say..HYPOCRITE?

It wasn't a question for me to answer. Adress that to bp, perhaps in a PM.

I see

It wasn't a question for me to answer. Adress that to bp, perhaps in a PM.

But you could answer the trivia part? That's funny too. Why should I send a PM when it was posted on the board? Getting back to being PC?

I could answer your trivia question because I've been a participant and read every post there.
I respect bp and do not believe that I have the right to answer for another member. PC? perhaps, but RESPECT? DEFINETLY.

Pespect?

I see! You have respect for someone who worries about children being here and yet has a vulgar avatar? Makes a lot of sense to me.

I'm sorry you don't see the difference. I don't see my avatar as being vulgar. She is fully clothed. You are the only one who has raised the issue and I'm certainly not married to it. If anyone else finds it vulgar or distasteful I'll gladly change it.

Send it to me. I'd love it for my desk top! :)

Ouch! Honey, I was only joking...ouch! But really, I was only ouch! Okay, okay. BP, forget it. :(

Hypocrite is what I say

I could care less about your avatar. Just pointing out about you raising an issue about children reading something, yet you have something in your avatar that's vulgar. You say she is fully clothed, well the last I heard, a female is not allowed on most beaches with her cheeks hanging out like that. Now someone correct me if I'am wrong. How about the poster from South Carolina? Is that allowed at Myrtle Beach? The last time I was there, it wasn't. Been a few years though.

Since you asked, here's Beth and Brittany @ Myrtle

And, before you ask, no I don't know them. I just googled MB Swimwear

I could care less about your avatar.

Once again, old buckaroo says that maybe you Should care less. Then it wouldn't bother you so much. Remember, the correct usage in this case is Couldn't care less, unless you really could care less and in that case, as I said earlier, maybe you shouldn't care as much.

Buckaroo on a crusade to correct this rediculous saying.

So

and those girls don't have something on that's up the crack of their arses either, with their checks hanging out. You're wrong and you know it, when you said you were concerned about younguns' reading something.

What's next? You poke your chest out and show your authority by threatening to ban me?

I have never banned anyone. I have never threatened to ban anyone. But, when someone starts acting like you towards me it is tempting.
But, I have changed my avatar. I hope you like it...

i have seen more than 1 thong on the beaches and yes from behind most appear to have NOTHING on

Oh how I love the beach. :bounce: :bounce:

The last website I was on I had the following quote in my signature line:
"Use spit, not lube"- Jenna Jameson
She said that at a black tie and gown affair. You can't begin to imagine how many people that offended. The lady has made one heck of a business doing something she truley loves to do and people get offended. Personally I like to speak my peice. If someone doesn't agree with me that's fine 20 years in the Navy gives you real thick skin, but when you start with the name calling because you don't like my opinion, I'm certainly not going to sit idly by and take it. So far I'm pleased to say that hasn't happened to me on here. I've had most enjoyable experience. If other people want to call each other idiots or morons I'll sit back and watch the festivities. Alot of times you get a real good chuckle out of it. :)
