He wants some of my Raisin Bran.

Tell me about your pets, pictures are welcome.

Catchy thread title, I'll give you that.:p

I have a Jack Russell terrier that is a good little dog. I lean more towards cats usually, but like this dog.

Here he is after having his eye removed, he was very sick at this point with brain damage.

He freaked me out a little. You know I have a terrible fear of one-eyed brain damaged animals, Lisa.<_<

So how is he doing now?

He can walk in a straight line, he can bark, he can scratch, he can eat and do his business, he can run (just not really fast) and he can still enjoy his life. He's about 75% back to normal. It'll be a year on Oct 10th.

I have 4 cats. It's supposed to be good for your blood pressure. I must have the wrong cats, then.

I like cats too. They are independent, survivors. A dog relies on people---a cat can survive perfectly well without us.

Did you forget about the pack of dogs last week that ate the old couple in Georgia(??)?

Interestingly, I just had saw an episode of 'monsterquest' on the history channel a few days before that was posted about feral, killer dogs in, I think it was, New Orleans.

They tracked them and watched them sort of morph from pets to strays to feral beasts. Pretty interesting.

Dogs are basically domesticated wolves. Some people estimate that they gave up half of their intelligence to eat the scraps of Man. If let loose they still will form into packs. That may have been what happened to that elderly couple.

Cats aren't much better. They've retained their wild instincts better than dogs, but give them another 50 years and this guy will be the standard for cats:

I have 2 dogs.

Bud is a huge, black Akita/Lab mix. 125lbs of "I wanta be a lap dog".

Little Dog is a 42lb mutt. He showed up 3yrs ago, so skinny he could get between the gatepost and the gate. He and Bud decided to like each other. So, he stayed.

Now, they chase squirrels and dig moles out of the ground. Since they don't put the dirt back in the hole, I get the honor while they watch.

Three dogs and a cat. May, a Lhasa Apso, is our oldest at 14, Ernie, a giant Maltese (22 pounds!) replaced May's brother Bucky some 6 years ago. Shady is a rescued Lhasa Apso who is 3 1/2 years old that we've had now for about 2 months. Then there is Bocephus the orange tabby that is great. Shady loves to play with everyone, including the cat, but Bo just doesn't see eye to eye with him. Ernie tires easily but Shady still wants him to play. May will play with Shady for about a minute and then if he doesn't stop, she will go at him with vengence. She is the Alpha dog in this house but Bo is the master...if you know what I mean. We love our babies.

awwwwwwwww What a great story. i'm so glad someone else here is a dog lover.

2 horses, 1 dog, a Heinz 57 variety, 1 cat at home and several at the barn. 1 horse is a rescue. I'm told we have to go look at another rescue horse soon. 2isn't enough I guess.

2 dogs and 5 cats. youngest dog (9 mo.) is now going to school as he's kinda stubborn about who's in charge of the house. of course the cats are.

I thought my dog only had one eye. Then I realized he was walking away from me.

Now a horse is one thing i don't have. *snicker*

i also have 5 cats. Yes, you saw that right, 5 cats. i'm gonna be that cat lady everyone talks about when i get old.

Of course.

i have an old lady kitty, who is about 12. She is the alpha female around here. She rules the roost.

not sure if this counts but wife is also a bird lady. not sure how many bird feeders we have but birds sure love our house. birds keep the cats occupied, squirrels and occasional raccoons keep the dogs occupied. just have to say "squirrel" and the dogs are through the doggie door in a heartbeat to find and chase it.

my siamese cat "Belle" hid my husband's spree candy under the couch.when i went to get them she says:"uh ohhh!" when i don't pay her enough attention she'll say "mooooom!"
i spoil her rotten.she's my baby girl.

I have 2 Siamese kitties and I used to have a Heniz 57 mutt who looked sort of like a Border Collie/Sheltie/something. The Humane Society said she was Shepherd/Sheltie+ when we adopted her at about 3. She lived till around 18-19 and we had to put her down last yr. I have a "grandpup" I babysit often. He's spoiled rotten, of course. Also have pond fish, but I'm down to 3 small ones. Some rotten varmints (racoons I think) got my big koi and goldfish. The other 3 hid for a mo. First time in years anything got in there after them.

Misha is my F older Siamese & is going on 7 in Nov. Sammy (M) will be a yr next mo. Wow..time went by fast!

Misha in the back, Sammy in front. They were in the same bed and Sammy was just about sliding out of it. That's why he looks almost bigger than her, but she has qutie a few pounds on him. :)
