I sent this to the (adjective) in question as well as the general manager of the store, then called corporate and filed a corporate complaint against the (adjective) in question. So now corporate, district, store, and departmental manager knows about it.
EMAIL AS FOLLOWS:
This is the third time to have filled out the application for employment as
a Mobile Electronics Installation Technician. I have filled it out twice
before, and it has mysteriously "disappeared" from the server both times.
Monday, August 31, 2009, I came into the store, and (name) scheduled me for
a 1 PM interview for today, Thursday, September 3, 2009. She did not give me
a choice, and thus, I had to leave my History Class 1312-006 at the
University of Texas at Arlington 20 minutes before class ended in order to
make it to the store on time for my interview.
Upon my arrival, I waited until 1:05 PM for (name) to assist me. At this time,
he notified me that my application was not in his stack, that it had
"disappeared" from the server.
Mobile Electronics Technician (name) previously gave me a brief interview (I
do not have the exact date, but this interview also took 2 attempts to make
happen; I was origionally scheduled for 1 PM, and was moved to 3 PM on the
same day), and I allowed him to keep my resume, containing my school
schedule. I am not sure where it landed after this interview. This resume
(also attached to this email, along with multiple screen shots as
confirmation of completion of the online application) contains both my email
address and Cell phone number. (name) nor (name) made any attempt to notify me
of the missing application nor that a formal interview could not be held
without it.
It took me exactly 40 minutes to commute the 14 miles from the university
to the store- Ideally, I could have made it punctually on time had I left
when class ended, however, I did not want to be late to my interview. Yes, I
do realize that I have 1 PM listed as my workability for Tuesday and
Thursday; but that is (obviously) the very edge of the window of workability
and would more realistically be closer to 1:30 PM.
I have added a read receipt to this email- I would like to be informed of
when my interview(s) will next be scheduled as well as confirmation that the
server has received my Online Application for Employment. I am suitably
qualified for employment in multiple departments of Best Buy, with a
multi-disciplinary background in Computers, General Electronics and DIY,
Mobile Electronics, and to a lesser level, Home Electronics and Audio. I
could be a great asset to Best Buy Mansfield, the ball just needs to get
rolling on the correct pair of tracks.
