That's a pretty awesome story. The best part is that the dude laid there bleeding until the cops got there. I would hate to have the guy out there on the loose and looking for revenge on the clerk when he least expects it.
It's hard to say if the clerk got something nice from the owner or not. I've actually heard of people getting fired for resisting a robbery. The justification for that is that many companies have a policy of just giving them the money so they can lower their chances of having to pay a death benefit to an employee's family. I see both sides to different extents. But, not resisting doesn't guarantee that the guy won't kill them anyway. And, of course, if word gets out that you are an easy mark and won't resist, you are putting your employees at an even greater risk because they will be lining up in the parking lot to rob your place.
