Ok so apparently I'm going through another mid-life crisis because I have recently been hooked on Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin. The thing that got me headed in that direction was a book I was reading called Mafia Summer. It was set in the 50's and surrounded mob and gang members. The main character went to a Bobby Darin concert so I looked up some of his music on line and I liked some of what I heard. There have been a few Sinatra songs that over the years I thought were ok, but I didn't get the whole fascination with him. Now, not only do I think it's ok, I think it is great.

Anybody else like this type of music? And if so, who else do you think I might like? Particular songs would be helpful, any favorites?

I like that type of music myself, especially Sinatra and Dean. I have a few James Dean records (yes, records).

Try Tony Bennet...not sure I spelled his last name correctly, but you would like him if you like the others.

The velvet fog, Mel Torme. It's great that you have found some of the great musicians of our time. If you want to research this sort of music, google "jazz standards". You'll find plenty of past and present singers that are of this sort.
