I Stand With Denny Hamlin

Everybody always complains about how drivers have no personality. Then here comes Denny Hamlin in what might be the greatest heel run in NASCAR history.

Ty Gibbs is a bad person who hides behind his grandfather’s money and the name of the Lord. Don’t forget, he wrecked his teammate Brandon Jones out of the Championship 4 and punched Sam Mayer while wearing a helmet. He also bullied poor Ryan Sieg for a while. He was throwing his weight around and trying to bully Christopher Bell and James Dennis Hamlin…. And he learned a lesson. Denny Hamlin was once teammates with Kyle Busch AND Tony Stewart at the same time! Denny doesn’t play! Which is why I have a commissioned painting of his 2016 Daytona 500 win hanging in my living room.

Denny did the right thing and punted Ty Gibbs…. Only for the fanbase to rage! I stand with Denny.

The next week, Bubba Wallace thought he was going to just win his way into the Round of 8. Well guess what? Denny Hamlin has a race to win. Denny did the right thing and raced Bubba like he would anyone else. Maybe Denny messed up and let that fake MPD Chase Elliott win the race, but screw it, it was good television! Denny Hamlin is the most entertaining driver in the field and we’re all going to miss him when he’s gone. Don’t forget this legend has less than 100 races left in his career. Enjoy him while he’s here.

I hope Denny Hamlin makes the Final 4 and wrecks all the Hendrick cars on the way to the championship. Expose this system and celebrate his long-deserved championship.

I felt like Denny was in the wrong for wrecking Gibbs. At the time, the race wasn't even at the halfway mark. Had this played out late in the race, I can see how it would be justified.

As far as last week, both drivers were going for the win. I can appreciate that. It didn't work out for either one of them. It kind of reminded me a little bit of The Winston in '92. Except in that race, Kyle Petty never touched Earnhardt, but Earnhardt spun. Petty lost his momentum and Davey Allison snuck by both of them for the win.

For me, the hatred that many have for Hamlin is becoming one of the most enjoyable parts of the 2026 season.
Maybe I should be better and have better taste, etc. It has a sick element like dark comedy, but when Hamlin does something that is going to piss people off, it just gives me a silly grin.

Kyle Busch was the bad guy for a while, but I think Hamlin has taken it to another level. Kyle was just immature and would go off if things didn't go his way on the track.

Hamlin will never be the villain or move the needle like Earnhardt. Dale could be a monster, but it was almost always tied to winning, and he did care a little about what people thought of him. Earnhardt also had many fans to match the haters.

Hamlin does stuff to win and can be brilliant at times. But he also does off the wall stuff like taking out Gibbs, and it his backfires on him more than it did with Earnhardt. The lawsuit, etc, there is little mad scientist mystery to it all with Hamlin.

Maybe he is just trolling the world, and I am not sure if he gives crap about any popularity.
