Its not the matter of fuel, its the matter of tires. The tires they run now are so hard you can run a race on one set of tires. Ya want to get rid of the fuel mileage races? Go with softer tires.
 
Thats what I've been saying all along, the tire last longer than the fuel run. Make the fuel run last longer than the tires and the fuel milage race is over.

with softer tires at a place like NHIS or Pheonix the marbles from the softer tires will be unmanagable.

this will be interesting to see how this works out

Next years Rulz are for softer tires and more down force.
