I think I know what TNT stands for now

Its a long known fact that TNT's coverage is incredibly commercial heavy(20 minutes of advertising for every 35 minutes of racing, or like 12 of every 30 laps is advertisement...something like that).

I think that is true for anything that is on TNT. Ever try to watch a movie on TNT? Can you say thank goodness for DVR's?

Or..... maybe nothing like that. It's always fun to bash the current broadcaster of NASCAR races whether it be TNT, FOX, etc.... but like FOX, TNT fills about 30% of the race broadcast with commercials. That's kinda what allows us to see the race, or anything else, in the first place. I can't say anything about any of their other programming but as far as NASCAR goes, it's all the same.

I am not pulling those #s out of my hind end. Someone actually sat down and calculated them.

TNT can turn a 1 and 1/2 hour movie into 4 hours so it's no shock all the commercials.

That's why I posted the link. They have figured it out. The numbers are in there and it seems many here would be surprised to know that FOX/TNT don't differ all that much in the amount of coverage during the race.

TNT also likes to advertise commercials at the bottom of the screen during their programs. A little obnoxious.

And..... Once again, TNT does this about the same as FOX. Before someone feels like saying that TNT does it to the extreme, Here's the link again. http://www.cawsnjaws.com/ There's quite a bit of detail in there on race broadcasts including all of the commercial breakdowns and the like.

I still can't find the pit out sign that TNT had on their broadcast, and Lord knows I looked while I was there.:sarcasm:

Me too. I read countless post from him last season bashing ESPN like they slapped his momma or something but now he's their biggest fan.

When a company improves their product (in this case, takes dog crap and turns it in to sterling silver), they deserve praise. Putting Marty Reid in the booth and putting Dr Punch on pit road really improved ESPN's product. Also helps that their producers have discovered racing throughout the field and don't just focus on the leader all race.

Andy, just because you may be happy with the changes doesn't mean that everyone else has to see it your way.;)

I personally will take any broadcaster as long as it doesn't include a Waltrip and yes, there were alot of commercils but that gives a guy more time to get a beer.

As for the complaining on here...I believe we all are guilty of that at one time or another so I'd like to say that I absolutely can't tolerate Mcreynolds over enuciation of simple, everyday words. More time to get a beer.

Over enenciation? More often than not, it's mis-pronunciation with him.

Larry, there's no such word as ekspecially!

Some of y'all will bytch no matter what.

TNT and ESPN have both done an excellent job this year.

It's not so much about you praising ESPN, it's that first sentence. Dude, you have a loooong history of complaining about everything and anything....
