I took my son to a Cleveland Cavaliers game for his 14th birthday and we had a great time. He wanted to take a few friends of his to a movie, but I thought that for about the same price we could see an NBA game. I got what I thought were going to be really bad seats on ebay for dirt cheap. But as it turns out, the seats were great. We were in the upper deck, but right behind the basket and we could see right away if a shot was going in or not. LeBron James, who is my son's favorite player had a great game with his 7th "triple-double" of the season 24 pts, 11 assts and 10 rebounds. And they won the game.

As if that weren't cool enough we ended up pulling right next to one of the Cavs players, Anderson Varejao when we were stuck in traffic on a side street. I had taken a wrong turn when the road I usually took was closed for repairs. It had taken us about 30 minutes to get out of the parking deck, so I was still driving around side streets about 45 minutes after the game was over. Varejao was standing next to his truck waiting to cross the street to a restaurant he was apparently going to eat at. Traffic was creeping along, so I rolled down the window and told him "Great game". He said "Thank You" and waved. It wasn't too hard to recognize him as he is 6' 10" and has some really wild colored and curled hair. It made my son's night as he was in the passenger seat and therefore within a few feet of one of his favorite players.

All in all it was a great night!:salute:

He is kind of hard to miss, huh?

Great way to spend an evening with your son. Glad that you seen a good game and also one of the players. I remember when I was a kid it was like heaven when I got to see the Pittsburgh Pirates play. I also seen a basketball game at Duquesne back when they were a power, what a thrill.

Thanks Muggle not

By the way, it is kind of ironic that the game we really wanted to go to was tonight's game against the Bobcats. They are giving every fan a poster of Lebron James tonight, so we wanted to go to that one. But the tickets were a lot more expensive, on ebay, so we went last Monday instead. I'm really glad we chose the other one, because now I have Strep Throat and wouldn't be able to go tonight after all.
