an article about Jeff Burton going to the AOL car. I have seen in several articles on this and in every one of them they mention the fact that Dale Earnhardt had endorsed Burton for taking over his ride when he retired. With that being said, do you think Childress may take this oppurtunity to bring back the NO3?

I don't thin there will ever be another numver 3
I don't think so either, eventho I would be fine having the #3 back on the track.

Don't count on it. That is Childress's number and I wouldn't be a bit suprised if he did put it back on the track one day. Also knowing that Dale would be pleased having Burton in his rides that would make it that much easier.

When Junior and Theresa get done kicking each other in the butt, Junior will sign with RCR and lo and behold a black 3 will be back and the multitudes will rejoice and the PBR will flow like water and the seas shall part and long shall be the revelry resounding through substandard housing settlements throughout the land. Yea, they shall flock to the local Waffle House in merriment, and shalt they scatter, cover, smother, chop, and dice themselves verily until thine cows come home.

The BLACK #3 will never be back on the track; as said by NASCAR and RCR at Dale's Memorial service, but their could be a RED #3. I also think though that Dale Jr (eventhough talentless even with Daddy's name) wants to be himself; and make the #8 synonymous for DALE JR and his own accomplishments. If he drove the BLACK #3; everyone would compair him more with his daddy.

This will definately happen before Jeff Burton drives the #3 car. Nothing against burton. I think the 3 will be back on the track eventually, but not in the near future.

As for Nitro's post. 12 Cup Wins, 2 Busch Championships. Finished 3rd in points last year and currently in 3rd this year. Yeah, no talent there.

Because I just think he's all hype and no GO! He's just a fan favorite with mediocre talent. He isnt one of the worst but DEFINITLEY NOT ONE OF THE BEST, like his dad!!!! :booya:

I never said he was the best but I do think he is better than mediocre. Third in points last year and in third again this year right now sounds alot better than mediocre to me.
BTW, I have one question, how did this thread turn into a Jr thread? I started this thread about Jeff Burton.

Ya'll keep working on it. Ya'll are starting to bring Nitro around.... :D

First Junior had no talent. Now he has Mediocre talent. Keep it up and pretty soon he'll be the best ever! ;)

Ya know...........................I really do not give a royal
hoot what number is on the car. 30, 3, 8, 29, 99, it's the driver
that makes it go.
As far as talent, they all had to have a little at one time
or another, or they wouldn't even be there.
They all have good days and bad days.
They also all have good years and bad years.

I feel pretty much the same as Dragonlady when it comes to numbers - they've been around a lot longer than anyone who has ever raced a car.

I do wonder, though, if Burton would drive the number 3 - unless Childress made an issue of it.

It is going to be interesting to see what he can do with RCR equipment and how the other drivers in the camp handle the pressure of having someone who can actually drive behind the wheel.

Yew sed dit !!!!!

Thaks EMP !!! My sedimints egzakly !!!!!

After consulting the christil bawl, fine Dick Chillress will empploy Joon-yer and bring the numer 3 frum seklushun.

Wahoo and hozzanna !!!!!!

the nummer 8 ain't exactly junior's own nummer...unless i'm mistaken, that was his granddaddy's nummer, so i don't think it would be all that out of character for jr to run the #3...he'd be the best candidate to build up that number's legacy, imo...and as much as i don't like it, he's established himself as a contender on almost every track. out of the 40+ mediocre drivers on the track (everyone behind the top 2 is apparently mediocre), junior has established himself as one of the best mediocre drivers out there...so until jeffrey or jimmie decide to get in the #3, i guess junior would have to be the top pick for that seat.

Actually Jeff Gordon started out in a black #3 car.
