It's logic ( or lack there of) like DW's that helps to destroy racin....... I mean, I understand what he is sayin...... Yea, we see the cars goin around and they are nearly draggin the ground. So why not let them just put the car on the ground to begin with?? Well, that is the way it starts...... drivers, car owners, etc, use this same logic at all tracks all across the nation..... well, we are doin so and so anyways, why not drop the rule..... What DW is failin to see, is they have to run a certain way to get those cars down because of downforce..... you let them put those cars on the ground to start with, then you open up a whole new can of worms....... then they have a base point and start doin trick stuff elsewhere in geometry, and such. At the local level, it happens all the time. A division start, ( like the thunder and lightning series here in the Mid atlantic area) a few years back...... with in a few years, the drivers were bringing in brand new late models, trick parts, etc..... until finally the class was done away with, because those guys were spendin as much as the late model guys, and runnin for less purses. eventually the fans couldnt tell the difference, and really could care less. The same thing is slowly happenin in FASTRAK...... started out as a really good, cost cuttin class.... now you have purpose built late models, runnin blueprinted, spec'ed out motors...... Teams are spendin 10 to 20 grand for a 3500 motor........ Drivers and car owners are always their own worst enemies when it comes to rules......
