Ice Bag from a Driver:

A driver in Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 was apparently attempting to cause an intentional caution when the a bag of ice hit several cars on Lap 349 of 400, Nextel Cup Series director John Darby said. Darby said the bag of ice came from a car in the field, but that the car could not be identified with certainty from video replay of the incident. The ploy worked, as NASCAR threw the caution. Causing an intentional caution is prohibited by NASCAR rules.(ThatsRacin.com

So they can't make it out in the video. Just like they couldn't tell if Junior was below the line at Talledega from the video. Funny, I saw the video. Looked pretty clear to me. Just like they couldn't see that Junior spun himself at Bristol and didn't hear the radio. Funny, I saw the spin and heard the radio. Pretty clear to me.

But these are the same people with the same video equipment that can set the field at Daytona when the yellow comes out. Riiiii-iiiight.

Gimme the tape with the slo-mo features and all that, and I'll tell you who it was.

To pass this line of crap off when they claim to be able to tell who was where when a yellow comes out is beyone preposterous. Make the damn call, Darby, or sit down and shut up and get somebody in the position with cajones enough to do it.

I went to the Race but I forgot to tape it  I could see all the Turns and the Back Strtch I just couldn't see anything on the front Stretch.

You want a copy?

I appreciate it Wide, But I think I'll just tape the replay. I hope its a better race on TV then it was in person.

LOL Wide Open...if I'd taped it I'd give it away too.

The crew in the booth seemed to indicate they knew who threw the bag out. I didn't see it and I have already erased it from TIVO so I can't go back and watch it. I'll have to depend on some of you to keep us informed. Thanks.

Hey WoP you had the anwser all along, in your 1st post!

The guys in the booth said Kurt Busch but as a joke 'cause he was the person in line for the free pass. They later claimed that the bag was lost from someones car during a previous caution.

I was not at the race but is it possible that a fan had some freezer bags full of ice for his/her cooler? It did look too me like it had ice in it when B. LaBonte - I think - hit it.

I also noticed cleanup crewman pick up what looked like an orange t-shirt from the track so the caution my have been thrown for that.

I remembr a beer bottle on the track during a caution as well.
