If history had happened a tad differently...

Remember last year when Stewart was a bonehead and started the 4th (I think) biggest wreck in cup history? Lets say that happened on the 100th lap not 200th...now THAT would be crazy!
Really the only lead lap cars would keep Kyle Busch, Gordon, Kenseth (dodged wreck), Keslowski, and Harvick (spun, but little/no damage).

Jimmie's car was destroyed so he would possibly be out of the hunt...same with Kasey and Clint. It may have been a one man show.

Just something I thought about the other day.

I noticed that the Race Hub blamed Waltrip for that wreck the other day. Poor Mikey

I found it funny that he and Gordon rode in the back together for most of the race. lol

Seriously? That was all Tony, who messed up the block in the first place. He also knows you can't block a tandem because they can't stop or move left or right when you do.

But Tony couldn't deal with a 10th place finish, so he wrecked the field and finished way back, and knocked Jr out of the chase and ended any chance for a few others.

Yep thats the way I see it too. Cant remember which one on the show blamed Mikey but they did.

Definitely agree, Tony threw a block on Mikey because he had the big run. Wait a second, I thought Tony hated blockers...

If I had to choose between a massive wreck with 3/4 of the field or Mikey winning another Cup race, I'd take the wreck every single time.

lol that's rough.

lol that's rough.

Yeah I suppose that did sound rough, I hate that good cars were torn up and I certainly don't like to see wrecks but the thought of seeing Michael Waltrip in victory lane as a Cup driver again just makes me cringe.

I think at this point of MW ever did win a race Jeff Gordon would be penciled in as a second winner

I think Tony kinds of agree with you. Depending on who he's letting him pass for the win.

Back in 2007, Tony almost won the fall race at dega when he had a great run on the top side until Gordon saw him and jumped ahead of him on the white flag coming off of turn 4.

Tony could have wrecked him just as easily and won the race but he played it cool. Finished 8th.

Mike Waltrip has a terrible cup career except for his grab bag plate wins, wins the 500 on the day of Dale's death then rides that story for the rest of his career. That's the most sickening part of it.

Yeah guy is the ultimate douche.

Crazy how people are always talking about him like he's a saint. Are they not aware this guy is a complete cheat or what?

I also can't stand how he's always presenting himself as though he was Dale's best friend and how they were best buds since they were little kids. I'm sure they were friends and all but when you're the champ everyone wants to be friends. I'd love to know what Dale really thought of Mikey and his driving abilities.

You know... I'd say one of the only things I really don't like about NASCAR.. is that the biggest, most prestigious race of the year can be won by people who wouldn't finish in the top 25 in points if they got to run an extra race. Meanwhile you have great drivers like Tony Stewart for instance that literally run laps around those guys.. and yet have never been able to take it. Or like Dale taking so long to finally get his. It just kind of rubs me the wrong way that the biggest most prestigious race takes almost no skill, basically just some great luck. You've got no talent back markers getting such a big name for winning it and then they do absolutely nothing else but are still looked at as great because of it. I used to think Michael Waltrip was great because of his 2 500 wins.. then you've got Trevor Bayne's win.. Danicas pole and all the hype about how she ran top 10... then we never hear from these people again. Don't get me wrong I know its clearly not all luck... but it takes about a tenth the amount of skill the top guys have ... IMO when it comes to skill as a top tier race car driver.. it doesn't mean anything to have a Daytona 500 win. It just makes for a fancier resume lol,.
