...why not go FULL FREAKSHOW? It'll never have that much value for data collection and there won't be any similarly sized tracks in the series ever. Honestly, the thing is that we're supposed to be having fun, so like, let's have fun. We don't need to pretend we're talking about something that has nostalgia and history behind it at this point. People stopped watching/going to see it in Daytona, it became their touch point for Southern California, now it's at Bowman Gray, and they're talking about Rio or Sao Paolo in 2026 or 2027. This is pure unadulterated show, and NASCAR has more money to put on more of a show than almost any other entity. So why not just go for it? Go full cartoon.
Option 1) Multi-Class: This isn't a super speedway; people rip through parking lots at comparable speeds. The touring series would all be pretty close to one another except the mods. Mix winners or pole winners or whatever up and race 'em together. You might not even need to bother with a BOP. At least someone will be able to overtake.
Option 2) Anything goes/Outlaw race: Maybe multiple classes of car on track opposite one another wasn't radical enough for you. If you have a legal/approved chassis with NASCAR and a properly mounted racing seat and safety features, that's your entire tech inspection. You want to go something akin to bone stock with approved parts? OK. You want to mount a gigantic Top Fuel wing to the back? Sure. Roots blower? Yeah, why not? If you have a sponsor that wants to spend a million dollars to win the Clash and mount fans/skirts on the car, go do it. It's Bowman Gray. You're not gonna hit 200mph no matter what you do.
Option 3) Neutral/IROC option: Supply the cars and maybe change them up from year to year. One year you have Super Late Models, another Modifieds, another Trucks. You give the top 4 in points from that series a chance to run in the event and it's a way to establish synergies between Cup and your other properties. It's less of a freakshow, but it also means you'd get to watch Joey Logano race Chase Elliott in pavement mods (you know, FASTER cars?). C'mon. Don't pretend you would rather see them in Nextgens than that.
