If you can't beat them, join them. Homestead is offering a unique ticket package named 'Track & Field'. In an attempt to make those empty seats vanish Homestead is offering a ticket deal that includes the Ford 400 Sprint Cup Championship at Homestead-Miami Speedway, as well as one of three Miami Dolphins December homes games. $110 price. Kind of a cool cross promotion IMO. More here.

I guess they must have problems filling that Dolphins stadium too.
 
It's interesting how these different cities support their professional teams. You mentioned the Steelers. Our stadium, Heinz Field, is never short of a sell-out for a regular season game. I can't imagine even with Miami's 5-4 record that there would be any empty seats here. I guess that's probably because there's a whole heck of a lot more to do in Miami compared to our area. Anyhow, nice cross-promotion none the less.
 
Heck every sports team in Florida has terrible fans no one shows up to Rays games even in the playoffs.
 
The Buccaneers used to have near sellouts for every game until two years ago when everybody got tired of Jon Gruden and they hired an unknown coach. Since they're starting to turn things around, I suspect that will soon change. The Dolphins have never had full support until late in the season if the team was playoff bound.
