If you could...

If you suddenly had a chance to be owner of a Winston Cup team, and you can have anyone on your team...you have a 4 car team, who would you hire?

I would definetely hire Jeff Gordon, and Dale Earnhardt Jr. They are the big money makers.

I would also have to have Ward Burton ( Personal reasons :) ) and my final driver that I would hire would be Kurt Busch, the young, future champion.

I would hire

1. Bobby Labonte = calm and collected, doesn't wreck race cars, a rolemodel for my younger drivers.

2. Ryan Newman = Smarter than the average bear, balls to the wall, could teach everybody about car setups.

3. Kurt Busch = Drives every lap like its the last.

4. Jimmy Johnson = Has the looks and the skill to make a great champion.

Good topic.

First driver would be Robby Gordon, simply because he is very marketable and I could venture into other forms of motorsports (open wheel, bikes, off road) and he would be my driver since he is so versatile. Very good with the fans and sponsors also, and a great driver to boot.

Second driver would be a class act veteran to mentor the guys I will be hiring. Absolutely no one better than Terry Labonte.

Third driver I would hire would be a guy who is in his prime right now, very marketable but also low key and easy to get along with. Jeff Gordon would be it.

Fourth driver I would hire is a young gun who is down to earth and can respect their fellow team mates and the team, with a lot of potential. That would have to be Brian Vickers.

Good Question!!

JC Motorsports Pontiacs
53- Sarah Fisher = allways liked her and want her in a good ride
54- Johnny Benson = Class act, clean driver
55- Kurt Busch = HE CAN DRIVE
56- Ryan Newman = Fast driver, smart driver, good driver

other driver I would look at, B. Labonte, Hermie Sadler, Scott Wimmer

Kevin Harvick
Dale Earnhardt jr.
Kurt Busch
Robby Gordon.

Pretty good question.

1.Jeff Gordon....not as unbeatable as he once was,but still very, very good.
2.Stewart...has the spirit and desire.
3.Ryan Newman...I agree with Bowtie(!)the best set-up guy out there.
4.This very nearly went to Greg Biffle or Kurt Busch, but against my better judgement I will gamble on the new kid:
Kyle Busch.

1. Ryan Newman, just love this kid
2. Matt Kenseth, a calm driver who can get the job done
3. Kurt Busch, all out all the time
4. Kevin Harvick, i love the fire in the kid, thats if NASCAR dont put it out

no verteran on the team, but i think between these kids they know how to get thigns done

Good Subject: Harvick....kicks a** asks questions later, like his attitude. Newman: smart guy with an education from Purdue, and can drive the wheels off a car! Bill Elliot: to keep the young guys in line, also to be a future crew chief. Brendan Gaughn: saw him race here in Colorado 2 years ago, smart and smooth driver, with a lot of skill.

I would go for the drivers that stick out in my mind as being "all around", big picture drivers, plenty of mechanical smarts, clean technique.

Ryan Newman
Dale Jarrett
Robby Gordon
Mark Martin

Kel

I would pick my 4 fav drivers:
Ward
Jeff Burton
Sterlin M.
Bobby Labonte

#50 coors light dodge: sterling marlin
#52 coors original dodge: jamie mcmurray
#94 dodge dealers dodge: bill elliott

#52 crew chief: fatback
#50 crew chief: ray evernham :D
#94 crew chief: robbie loomis (even though i don't like this putz, i wouldn't mind him as a crew chief)

with evernham, loomis & fatback. this team will be unstopibal

since it would take a miricle for that to happen
i would only have 3 teams and my drivers would be:

dale E sr
davey allison
allen K.

I think you would have a stout team!

Okay here is my team:

1. Tony "The Man" Stewart- Doesn't need an explaination, he can drive the wheels off of anything.

2. Matt Kenseth- he's championship bound.

3. Ryan Newman- as several of you have already stated he is the King of setups.

4.This one is hard cause I want to say Sterling, but I think last years injury has changed his driving. So it is going to have to be a toss up between Dale Jarret and Rudd, got to have an old timer.

Jeff Gordon...still the best until someone else wins 5 cups

Matt Kenseth...Several Cups in his future?

Kyle Busch...Why Not?

Dale Jr...Big fan base, and I could use all the help I could get from the Red Trailer :p
