If you had it your way, what would happen in Richmond's finish and who would win?

Cant't be unreslistic (i.e. the first 20 cars wreck giving Kasey Kahne the win).

So how would you have the finish go if you had it your way? Would Montoya win? Would Burton hold off the field? Would it happen just the way it happened? How would you love to see it go?

I like the way it ended, but my next choice would have been Burton.

Not have the cautions on the last 10 laps count. So if it goes to caution on lap 8, then when they go to green, it'll still be lap 8.

I'm happy with how it turned out. More times than not, when this happens (almost every week), the late race caution sets up an anti-climatic finish.

Damn, that's a lot of questions. I like to see them end exactly how they play out. Given the choice, I'm sure everyone would like to see their respective driver get the pole, lead the most laps and win with a 10 second lead. How boring would that be?

I like it when Harvick doesn't lead any laps until the final handful of laps but is running in the top five. That's usually when he wins.:D

Wish Mark would get one more here soon.

No more drivers fights are needed. Except for Tony, he needs an adjustment.

What we need is cat flights or the driver's wives fighting, in wishbone attire (aka known as tare away a jerseys).

I like that idea, Greg. And to make it easy for Nascar to officiate, it could be no rules anything goes.;)

Obviously I wanted to see 24 stay up front and win the race. With that said, at two different points I was hoping the top three finished in that order. The 42, 78, and 56 in particular. I want those teams to get a w finally so damn bad! I was hoping the 31 could stay up front too at the finish but the tires were not having any of it.

A good thread but the old warning "be careful what you wish for" is worth considering. What makes the incredibile moments so special is their limitations as in few and far between.

The unknown is more interesting,
What the heck, it is early in the morning I am feeling philosophical, or it is just my usual BS.

Would have had Joeys team get him out of the pits quicker to start 7th on the final restart instead of 11th (you know... where Harvick was) LOL :p

Vickers doesn't bring out the caution and the 42 car wins after holding off a furious attempt by Harvick to get past him

Damn you eliminated mine in the first post so Montoya wins

What's with all the people wishing Montoya would win? He's an a**hole.

Because he was in position to win the race if there was no flag, his disposition has nothing to do with it.

If your least favorite driver was in position to win before a late flag, would you be glad to see the flag?

Montoya rules and is one of the best pure road racers to sit his ass in a Sprint Cup car so hush now.

I've loved Juan Pablo since he did this commercial his rookie year in CART.

That's a...interesting commercial.

And in his last few road course starts he hasn't even gotton top 15. Ambrose>Montoya BIG TIME!

In 2012 both EGR and RPM's equitment was okay -- not amazing but not terrible.

Montoya bombed both road courses.
Ambrose got a pole, top 10 and a win.

Name a driver that isn't...
Jimmie Johnson. Regan Smith. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Matt Kenseth. Greg Biffle. Ryan Blaney. David Ragan. David Gilliland. Darrell Wallace Jr. Martin Truex Jr. Clint Bowyer. Jamie McMurray. Elliott Sadler. Michael McDowell. Dave Blaney. Travis Kvapil. Brad Keslowski. Carl Edwards (besides when he's around Brad Keslowski).

Made my point? No? I'll go on then...

Ryan Truex. Joey Logano. Trevor Bayne. AJ Allmendinger. Paul Menard. Jeff Burton. Sam Hornish Jr. Bobby Labonte. Terry Labonte. Bill Elliott. Chase Elliott. Ken Schrader. Dale Jr. Ryan Newman. Mark Martin. James Buscher. Kevin Harvick. Austin Dillon. Ty Dillon. Ross Kenseth. Erik Darnell. Reed Sorenson. Jeff Gordon. Marcos Ambrose. Aric Almirola. Kasey Kahne. Michael Annett.

I suppose I will stop now but I can think of much more than just that.

Every driver you name has an A-hole.....

Would have been nice to see Montoya and Harvick over those last laps, especially as Montoya had just run a faster lap right before the yellow. Both guys were driving the wheels off their cars.

That being said, reality trumped everything and having the bottom line, fresh tires and a fast car was worth more than most are admitting.

Montoya would have easily pulled away.
