........... who would you want to drive for?

Well, for me it would be the following...........

Superspeedways it could only be the Wood Brothers!

Short tracks would have to be Junior Johnson.

But the best of all at anywhere you went would have to be ol' Poppa Ralph in one of his Competition Proven Fords. If there ever was a sharper chassis man than Ralph Moody I've never heard of him and he was a wonderful man and true friend of anyone fortunate to be in his circle.

And the guy who I would not have wanted to drive for is probably gonna be a surprise. I considered Smokey a friend and he really liked my cars, but..........back in the days before those multi million dollar appearance contracts, if you didn't finish well you didn't eat well. While getting to hang out at the secret race shop at the "Best Damn Garage in Town" would have been priceless, they still wanted cash at the local grill and grocery store. LOL

for me, it would depend on the era.......
the 50's- Raymond Parks....... you know your stuff will be fast.....
the 60's- Only place to be- Holman/Moody. That lil gold bird was good for 40 plus Hp....lol
The 70's- One of two. If I wanted to run for championship- Jr Johnson...... if I wanted to pick and choose money races...... The Woods. at least with the Woods, I would know I was gettin a fair deal, and never have to worry bout the car.
The 80's- Gotta go with Jr Johnson again....... by far the best of the 80s..... yeah I know Childress and Earnhardt were bad, but Dale wouldn't have put up with a team mate back then.....lol
The 90's- Easy choice- Robert Yates Racing. Yea, I know, I am a Mark Martin fan, but I never cared for Roush..... always felt like his mouth and his fueds with NASCAR always hurt Mark's chance at a title....
the 00's- aka now....... I don't wanna answer this one......lol. But Lord please forgive me for what I'm about to say....... I would want to drive for Hendrick. Since the mid 90's, he has had the best equipment and the results show it......

and yea pop's, I think I gotta bigger surprise than yours for the team I wouldn't wanna driver for...... Petty Enterprises. Although I grew up bleedin Petty blue, sorry I just wouldn't want Richards left overs....... I know, I know, baker, Hamilton, Panch and others had some success in his cars, but how many times did Richard pull them outta their car and finish the race if they were doin good, and he fell out? And I can't see Lee and I gettin along very well........ then again, I do get along with pops.........lol

My simple answer would be, I would race for Andretti Green Racing.:D

And I can't see Lee and I gettin along very well........ then again, I do get along with pops.........lol

Now that was just wrong! And after I didn't fuss at you for not even calling this past week while I was off. So much for doing something together, huh?

Probably just as well though, it's Saturday and I still can't see the kitchen table and there's no new wall covering in the bathroom or tile in either the kitchen or bathroom. Oh well, racing season starts in a few more weeks and I'll have the new job to worry about. :director:

Why do I let ya'll get me into these "briar patches"anyway
