If your favorite driver retired tomorrow.......

When Bill Elliott Retires I dont know if I will ever have a favorite driver again. Whoever takes his #9 I will root for but I wont go out and buy their diecast, hats, and shirts.

If Newman drove a GM car I'd root for him. As things stand right now, probably Tony (as long as he's not punching anyone).

My favorite retired 2-18-2001 and I no longer have a real favorite although I do pull for JR. I favor all DEI and RCR cars. but no one car or driver in particular.

While I am kinda partial to our hometown hero's (Kurt, Kyle, and Brendon) I am really hopeful that young Tim Sauter goes out there and kicks butski Sunday. But whoever it is in the 71, I'll be watching.

Same With Me

I guess I'd switch to Rudd full time, until he retired, at which point I'd go with Ryan Newman. Yeah, he should be around for a long, long time. :)

Right now I'd go with Stewart (who is already at the top of my list) and Newman, who has great potential. I also like Martin, but my guess is he'd retire before Bobby, so moot point.

i dont know man jeffy's my baby, i doubt i would watch every race after he leaves, but i would root for jimmie, jr ya know as long as it aint wallace or martin

Well it would be Johnny Benson of course but if he retired as well I would lean towards who ever is in the 45 car!

Mat Kenesth,Or Greg Biffle,They are the future of Roush,And the old men know it. ;)

LOL fergy!! That's a good one.

Mine would be Tony, Ricky Rudd, Ryan Newman and others like I do now. LOL

Dang, just for contoversy's sake I'll throw in that Kenny W was a rookie w/ Bobby L and Jeffy G.... What's he still got for us now after all these years?

:lurking:

I'd have to go with Terry Labonte, and after that Ricky Craven, but Jerry won't be retiring anytime soon :)

If Gordon ever retired I'd prolly go with Johnson, JR and Bobby LaBonte. But of course, Jeffy ain't ready to retire with 4 more to go, thank God! :D

My primary allegiance shifts to Sadler about 5 minutes after the last race this season. I MISS MY FORDS!!!! So I'd be a Sadler/Ward/Kenseth hierarchy at that point. Look for me to have a new screen name too...

Some people may think that I have no loyalty. My first reaction would be, And this impacts you in exactly WHAT way? But for the curious, I'll explain. I'm a lifelong Ford fan. Been pulling for Mark Martin for years. I honestly thought over this past off season that all this discussion over Rudd's retirement we have had would have been about Mark. I thought he would announce his retirement this season. Seeing no one in a Ford that really yanked my crank, I adopted Ward for a year. That year is almost up. Now my boy E-Sad is in a competitive buggy, I can once again be a Ford fan, and all is right with the world. Just in case any of you give a crap.:D

I really like Sadler, but would pull for Bobby Labonte if DJ retires any time soon. Greg Biffle would be a choice also.

Sadler in a Yates Ford is Championship Contender just waiting to happen TWF.

If DJ announced his retirement today I would first go into a very deep depressed state. Then once I got over that I would pull for Sadler and probably for who ever fills the seat of the Yates 88 car. I will most definitely be a fan of Jason Jarrett when he makes it to the big show. The whole Jarrett family is a class act in my book.

Humm....I guess I would probably pull for Tony Stewart. I've always liked the agression that he showed on and off the track. Although I don't condone punching at reporters I like the intensity that it shows he possesses.:takethat:

Wanted to add to my list earlier in the thread--I'm waiting for Kasey Kahne to come up thru and of course, Justin Jarrett!! LOL

What about just rooting for these "second favorites" anyway?

How can you keep track of so many different levels of "favorites"?

Jimmy Johnson and Tony Stewart, that is when Jeff Gordon retires. He still has quite a few years left in him though. I still root for Jimmy and Tony now. But my first favorite is for Jeff Gordon. (That is since 2/18/01-RIP DE!) I had no idea who Jeff was when he first started in WC. I rooted for his sponsor Dupont, since that is who my father was employed by.:o

Dale Earnhardt will always be my favorite!!!

I have a lot that I keep up with, all of DEI and I think Harvick is going to be one to contend with now that he has his anger more under control.

I have numerous favorites, so if one retired I guess I would be alright but I dont really dislike anyone anyway! Im the type that roots for a person based on the race or sentimental reasons!

Dale Sr. was the only driver I ever considered my Favorite, I will never forget him!
