I'm back from a computerless hell

These damn thunderstorms knocked out my power for two days and fried out the mother board on my new Dell computer

I would have been without power for even longer if my brother wasn't a repair supervisor for First Energy ;) He got my street "bumped up" a little bit on the list of priorities. There were reportedly over 100,000 people without power for a time last week because of the thunderstorms here in NE Ohio. It sucked to be without power for that time. But, it sucked even more to find out that my computer wouldn't power up after the power was restored. I spent over an hour on the phone with Dell technical support. They decided it was a Power Supply and sent one out. The repair guy came out saturday and installed the power supply, but it did no good. They sent a motherboard that got here today. He just left after installing it. I didn't realize how addicted I was to my computer.

Glad you back! So did you come to Hoosierland for the car off of Ebay??

Glad you guys are okay 4X. I would definetly be going through withdraws if something happened to my computer. Not to mention having to live without power for 2 days! Glad you are up and running again!

Was wondering where you'd been, 4x. Glad you and the family are okay, and that you got the computer back up and running! Nice brother too, for getting your power back on sooner that you were scheduled! Ain't family great!?!?!? :) Oh, and Dell is really great about getting your PC repaired!

Thanks for asking. Actually, I had to work on the day I wanted to go and get it. So, the seller actually offered to meet my wife and her brother in Dayton! I thought that was a really nice gesture on her part. The car is fantastic. It needed tires and some pretty major brake work, but I pay a whole lot less for that stuff than people who don't work for Firestone would. ^_^ . It was just a fantastic deal and we are really happy with it. :)

Was wondering where you'd been, 4x. I totally sympathize with the computerless state. The 2 weeks I was without mine were the longest 2 weeks of my life.

Glad to see you back up and running. :)

Hell is understatement of the century when it comes to being computerless/powerless.

Thanks for the "welcome back"s! And for the concern. It is nice to know people notice when you are not around. ;) :salute:
