Yeah I know it was only post tropical storm Arthur but my town was not prepared. We have people without power for over 2 days, and people do not know how to handle it. Its like you guys down south getting blanketed in a snowstorm for days.

People are swarming the few stores open, only a few spots open for showers. Right now there is 43K people without power in my city and the city only holds about 60k-70k.

I have no power and had to drive my daughter an hr and half away to my sister to get power.

I know 17D is in the midst of this too.

Following Sandy I bought a small generator. Being without power for any length of time is a PITA! Luck in getting your power back soon.

you guys got some wind for sure. Around here they have power crews come from all over to get the power on after a storm, but we have less snow removal equipment in the whole state then one county in Michigan. Hope they get some crews together and get you powered up soon.

Here too. We have some linemen from maine as well as neighboring provinces helping.

The issue right now is they cant put power to the lines until all the trees get taken off the lines.

Prob is the scope of this was WAAAAY bigger than what gov't thought.

FYI, they get the main lines on first and then the neighborhoods and then the ones and twos. So if your whole neighbor hood is out..good deal. If you have a line down from the pole to your house, going to be a while.

No worries here...I'm good. Using my cell as a mobile hotspot is running up some serious data charges and being responsible for generators at 3 different locations is starting to get old but I'm good :)

You said 'provinces' so you're in Canada? The generator I have is small but enough to keep the fridge cold and we can use the microwave, but not at the same time. A few lights, radio and pellet stove for heat. Gas water heater with a pilot so no problem with taking showers. IMO money well spent.:)

btw, you can get good deals on them right now, people bought them 'just in case' and are now returning them because they weren't used..
