IMSA 2025

The 93 finally breaks through for Acura and snaps Penske Porsche’s winning streak. Hell of a scrap for the win in GTP after that restart.

The 64 picks up the second win of the season for the factory Mustangs in GTD Pro, held off the 3 Corvette.

Peacock kept screwing with me so I wasn't able to enjoy the race much. Would get an error so got nothing for a bit, then kicked me out, then got another hesitation.....

Wife told me to not watch it live and I probably would be ok. But shouldn't have to watch that way.

Huh. I watched it start to finish, rock solid all the way.

Y'know, thinking back, the wife was watching Peacock on another tv so I wonder if that had anything to do with it. Maybe not but both of us watching at the same time might have contributed.

This. This race is the one that's least likely to be spoiled, and the series that has the longest period before the next event. I'm looking forward to it more than Iowa but this one will be last on my viewing calendar.
I'll tune into this one when Iowa is over and into NASCAR when IMSA is over. Should be able to catch a good portion of every race that way.

Well, I watched maybe 33 minutes of this race, about 29 of them were under caution. They take forever in IMSA.
I generally agree but Dillman was injured and needed to be extracted and taken to the hospital. Really unfortunate since he was the driver of the day beforehand, just a terrible place to suffer a mechanical failure.

It’s sounding increasingly likely we’ll see Porsche and/or BMW scale back their programs or even exit IMSA entirely with the ongoing tariff dramas:

Ya know, I'm as opposed to tariffs as the next guy but I didn't see any reference to them in either article.

I can understand BMW pulling out of prototypes; their performance has been lousy prior to the current platform.

BMW has been fast, and a threat all year, but they have not been able to put it all together. It would be a shame to see them pull out.

I think they’ll be fine if they get WRT to take over the IMSA program next year. It would require them to establish a U.S. base though, and that isn’t something easy to do in a short period of time. I get the impression that cutting back to an Endurance Cup-only program is the likeliest option.

No confirmation on the scope and scale of the IMSA program, but BMW will be here to stay for a little while longer.

While not formally naming a new service provider just yet, WRT are conveniently building up a new squad in Charlotte.

BMWs split the Acuras among the first two rows tomorrow.

Yelloly and Renger have been fantastic since figuring out the Acura.

Also, an interesting fact. Russell Ward was the fastest out of all the GT cars. He just was upgraded to silver and man, if he keeps this up. He'll be a super silver, if not be in the running for Gold.

Just a rabid, rugged race at Road America today. And there was a lot more TV couldn’t capture. Crazy.

Very nice to see a sentimental 1-2 for RLL BMW. Strategy has never been their strong suit, but they came through in a big way to set themselves up for victory today.

Hate that we just missed out on a Wickens victory in GTD, but that was a hell of a drive from Kenton Koch to muscle by for the win and give Triarsi their first win in IMSA competition.
