Indy 500! Woo-Hoo!

Castroneves wound up with the pole.
The top 11 cars are from 4 teams Andretti-Green (5 cars), Penseke (3 cars) Ganassi (2 cars) and Vision Racing (1 car). It was good qualifying to watch, the "new" format makes each day exciting.

Who does Danica Patrick drive for? I don't keep up with IRL that much.

Well of course I have to root for the Kiwi in the field Scott Dixon :beerbang:

It's been raining in Indy :( . They've been drying the track, and still may get the race in today as tomorrow's weather does not look better.

I can't understand a word Milka sayts.

Plus Hugo Chavez is cheering for her. :bleh:

RED FLAG due to rain, running order as of now:

1. Kanaan
2. Marco Andretti
3. Danica Patrick

I'd love to see that finish, but I'd also love to see the race to it's end.

Poor Marco. And, I see that his mother, Sandy, hasn't changed one bit. Never could stand that woman.

Effing bull... IRL did everything they could to run off the laps.

Carbon fiber is very sharp when sheared...i'd imagine they were looking for debris to keep from cutting tires....

and SOMETHING needs to be done about that second groove.

That was a 20 minute caution, just for 10 seconds of racing.

IndyCar needed a great finish, or a superstar to win (Danica, or an Andretti). But, that's not to be.

Kanaan may not be Andretti or Danica but he's pretty close to a superstar. He's actually a very popular guy. I would have liked to see Marco win but I've watched Tony race for years. Oh, and see how Danica is third buckaroo? I guess she wasn't such an off-the-wall choice after all, eh? ;)

There being no second groove is ridiculous, and really hurts the racing, IMO.

Also, did you all see the start? How bad was that?! They weren't lined up properly at all!

Oh, now we have the Indy 500 also involved in fixing the racing. I guess there will always be someone who doesn't like how things go and will point to the sanctioning body as fixing it.

well now we're into an overlap. now that ABC and FOX both have nascar rights, why can't they have an agreement to have PiP mon both channels of the opposite race in the upper corner? Because my "back" button on my remote is going to be dead by the end of the day.

I wouldn't get too excited as there is another cell moving in on the speedway soon. My guess is that this race is over as they won't be able to restart before more rain falls.

Well, they're racing at Indy BUT another rain cell is coming.

I had two TVs on.

Pretty miserable finish to an otherwise great Indy 500. I think the cautions were way too long though.

I'm just mad Danica didn't win I guess.

Plus I hate the way ESPN interviewed Ashley Judd at the end of the race instead of the crew chief.

Did anybody know? Dario Franchitti is married to Ashley Judd. It was in our local paper tonight.

I'd say that probably most fans who keep up with the IRL knew that little fact. I remember when they were married, but since I don't keep up with the series, I did forget that.
