I've been pretty optimistic about the future of NASCAR but these Indy stands are unreal. I think pre-season baseball games draw more fans than this.

apparently half of the were @Flyer22 family members.Hopefully all 25 fans in attendance made it to safety.

Y'ever chose to not attend a race that you paid for because when you got there the forecast sucked?they sold around 50,000 tickets about the same as last year. With "severe thunderstorm warnings" in the forecast and then posted, could it possibly be that the ones who didn't show up watched the fans that were there scampering for cover when lightning was in the area and they felt they made the right choice to keep their family out of danger?

Dispicable......... looks like a crowd for a practice session........An awful laughing stock when compared to the 500 crowd.

I'd say 40,000 is being VERY generous........Just got home and turned on the race, I know there was a rain delay but damn....there's nobody there. There's a problem when you used to not be able to get a ticket to this race and now there's probably 40,000 people there. The Camera shots from today are embarrassing and scary for this sport.
If someone had a gun to my head and asked me to guess I'd say 20,000 are thereI'd say 40,000 is being VERY generous........

I think that's a closer estimate..........If someone had a gun to my head and asked me to guess I'd say 20,000 are there
I can't understand why people arnt going to this race, it's freaking Indy. I can only speak for me when I say I did consider driving down to Indy in Friday but saw how hot it was going to be and said F that.Dispicable......... looks like a crowd for a practice session........
To be honest....... I have never been there..... never had any inclination to go..... It just never interested me.... flat track... VERY limited viewing..... hotter than a pistol...... even though folks went on and on about the ''history''...... and all that....... I was never interested in any of the hoopla..... I like to see good racing and be able to see it.......I can't understand why people arnt going to this race, it's freaking Indy. Seriously i still showed up to Dover in 2007 when there was a 100% chance of rain, yeah it got rained out but I was there.Y'ever chose to not attend a race that you paid for because when you got there the forecast sucked?
Not even 20k if you dont count that Gilbert Brantley's family. If someone had a gun to my head and asked me to guess I'd say 20,000 are there

What's up with Nascar fans and weather? If it is over 75 it is hot and if it under 70 it is cold....
Hey I'd go to a 40 degree race, no problem with that. What's up with Nascar fans and weather? If it is over 75 it is hot and if it under 70 it is cold....
The good news is no traffic jam worries for the Brantley family reunion , even with a late race ending.
What you saidThe track sucks. Never mind the crappy racing, it absolutely sucks for spectators. You can't see sh!t. Maybe a 1/3 of the track if you are lucky and definitely less for those of us without the big $ to spend. You pay to say you were there because you don't pay to watch anything.
I wouldn't want to go because you can't see most of the track, and the racing generally sucks.I can't understand why people arnt going to this race, it's freaking Indy. I have to agree with this too.I wouldn't want to go because you can't see most of the track, and the racing generally sucks.
