For my part this just shows the provisional system is a sad deal. Bodine had the same time and speed as the Jr, but goes home. Kenny was faster than Terry even. To let Cope and Foyt in with their poor times is stupid. I can see maybe having two provisionals with no past champions, but it still ought to be the fastest getting into the show.
 
Couldn't agree more, but then we have them "rules". JR barely made it on speed and that surprised the he!! out of me! :wacko:
 
Allright Kevin on the pole. And a great run for Ward Burton.
 
Just about of them that went home was faster than Cope.
 
if Nascar is gonna keep these provisionals around, they need to factor number of races a team runs per year or even number of laps completed throughout the year....if you dont compete in a minimal number of races or complete a certain percentage of laps, then you shouldn't get a provisional....
 
Bill Bigley wasnt doing too bad, he got screwed over by thos damn rules too
