I’d love to see Bristol host an Indy race. If any shorter track could I’d imagine it’s that one
I'm assuming Dover back in the day scared them off high bank concrete tracks (Nashville excluded)
Sorry, but I can't imagine that being anything other than a wreckfest. They'd have to come down to the apron in the middle of the front stretch to get onto pit road; they'd never make it down off the banking in 1 without getting run over.
First IndyCar race I get to watch since the Indy 500.
Hinchcliffe on a huge charge early. 11th to 2nd already.
At the moment it looks like no more than three cars will finish on the lead lap.
The tire wear is massive. The cars look so damn slow here this year.
slide job? lower case spoken in whispers
good stuff, love this track
They put on a great show here. Wow, that first caution was a long time coming.
Pretty quick trigger finger on the yellow lol.
Newgarden had this same performance here with ECR two years ago.
ol Veach might be good for another caution later if his piece doesn't stay together.
Cars look good on this track, still need to take more sh!t off of them. They have the back pretty right, two much cowbell on the front though.
That could be a game changer.
stay on em Pig
Power needs another caution
Think Hinch is the only one with something for Josef. Might wanna try something different on strategy for the final stop.
C'mon Pig to the front
Hinch could’ve gotten within striking distance. Blew it.
Would love to see Spencer pull this off. Kid has had a ton of crap luck.
Hinch got em
What a recovery by Hinch. Great stint.
Wow, very strong move for the lead. Hinch is gone.
That was a great pass.
Bizarre incident. Hope Sato’s car is alright.
Maybe one lap shootout on fresh tires.
This is really weird.
Lol don’t even go back Green. Lame.
Things like this are why IndyCar doesn’t make new fans
it's the other side of a green and white checker, neither are perfect.
Caution came out with like 6 to go. Gotta be able to restart that.
Good race though and the right guy won. Really good races at Iowa so far this summer.
should have thrown the red?
I would be fine if they just went back with 1 to go and next flag ends it. Just was weird the lights were off then they are like nah it’s over.
I think they just needed to more urgent and communicate better. Seems like they were late to get the debris. Maybe just forego the wave around at that point too.
Yeah, they should probably have an established quick yellow procedure in place for such situations. I wouldn't be in favor of a red flag. Hell no to a GWC.
Generally, there is nothing wrong with a race ending under yellow. Either run races in which yellow flag laps don't count, or they fall where they fall as necessary. Everything else is manipulation.
kinda anal on the manipulation IMO
trying to figure out the correct ending for a race is like discussing politics IMO. There are many ways to do it and none of them are perfect.
