NWS done catching up with DVR.

Go Tony Kanaan, make team Anderetti sorry, for letting you go.

Please beat the big dogs, like the Captain and Gnassi.

Yay,

Hewho pay NoTaxes, uncheduled green stop.)

Besides local racing, I don't know if there is any form of motorsport right now that puts on a better show than the Indy cars are. Another great one. Good win for the Andretti team.

How did you like the size of the crowd?
I found it very odd that prior to the race the announcers said something to the affect of: "It is reported as a sellout but you will see some empty seats. That's because of the weather. It rained heavily earlier in the day and there is a 60% of rain before the race is competed."

When was the last time the NA__AR media shills even addressed the possibility of empty seats for a Cup race?

Jenkins remains one of the consummate media professionals but Dan Wheldon...? I'm beginning to see a bit of a tendency to "DW-ize" his performance. I think I like him better behind the wheel and not constantly commenting on one. The coverage was great. I watched the Cup Lite race at Road America and the dorks ESPN features (Rusty, Petry made my hair hurt and my teeth itch! Ghod! What a couple of inept Bozo's! They are in a class with DW and Larry Mac, and that ain't no compliment!

The Indy coverage showed action throughout the field and not merely a small collection of popular Tee-shirt sellers. I couldn't take the extended pre-race show, which i thought was about as self-serving as anything NA__AR racing gives us, so I can't comment on that but the post race was just about right.

Another enjoyable race presentation.

Loved Kanaan's comment to Marco in victory lane. "if it wasn't for the win, we were gonna talk about it."

Great attendance. I don't know what Iowa's capacity is, but as the Versus crew pointed out, it was just about full, and they packed them in outside the backstretch as well. They certainly don't dodge attendance figures the way NASCAR media does. ABC did kind of avoid the Milwaukee crowd, but I can't really fault them for not rushing to mention nobody showed up.

As far as Wheldon goes, I generally like him in there. I hear what your saying with a couple "DW moments," but it's not to the point where he's hard to listen to. As far as I know, he'll only be there until Dallenbach is done with TNT.

A couple things about the race itself, is there something I'm missing regarding the "chopping" going on? Two weeks in a row there have been multiple complaints from drivers about it, but I haven't seen anything that I wouldn't classify as good, hard racing. I know the rule against blocking, but if any part of the racing last night was outside the rules, then they ought to widen the rules a bit. It's not much of a race if you don't allow drivers to defend their position.

Lastly, did they ever say if Power actually had a concussion? Maybe he was just distraught by crashing away the points lead, but he really didn't seem like he was all there when they talked to him.

^ Power had a slight concussion, will need clearance for next event, per late race comments on verses.

Slight is the word, should be no problem.

Tk did some pinching as well, so he should be penalized to. NOT!

Great race

Hey VD

I know you commented toward someone else. But Just my two cents:

I like TK, and I don't really care for Marco.
But I agree with you. Marco ran a good race, very determined, and he raced Tony the way Tony raced him. Good for him.

It was a worthy win, with no apologies warranted.

Now I am back to being crabby, and tacky.
Crabby old schooler that doesn't like rich son drivers, with an easier path.
And tacky enough to act like a juvenile with your user name. LOL

But seriously I love your photos, and your contribions toward the grass roots. Respect.

Funny, I feel the exact same way towards both. And agree, it was a well earned win.

And thanks, appreciate your comments:)
