Sorry Andy, but I cant get excited about this Baltimore possibility. I dont want and the IRL doesnt need another road/street course when they are losing good ovals.

This race in Baltimore will be held on August 5-7th in 2011.

I sure hope Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has a plan for security, Baltimore is not a safe place to visit. I've lost count of how many shootings there were this past weekend alone.

I live 20 minutes from Baltimore. Most people around here won't even go to Downtown Baltimore in broad daylight.

The current IRL strongly resembles CART from 2001.

Here is the track layout..

They reconfigured the course so it wouldn't interfere with Ravens Preseason Football the night before the race.

Trust me, you don't interfere with Ravens anything in Baltimore -- a good way to get shot in the head, twice.

Just announced moments ago, the American Le Mans Series will be a companion event to the IndyCar Series on Labor Day Weekend 2011 in Baltimore.

I went to the Indycar race last year at Sonoma, just purchased the one day tickets because I couldnt be their the day before. It costed about $65 which I thought was a pretty good price.

All AMLS races will air live on ESPN3.com in 2011. As part of the agreement, ABC will air four American Le Mans Series races with the rest on ESPN2 all either live or same day delay.

ABC will have live coverage of the American Le Mans Series race at the Baltimore Grand Prix. At this point, I would assume ABC is going to pick up the IZOD IndyCar Series race at Baltimore as well which means it would air locally on WMAR and would be one of very few Baltimore events not to air on WJZ.

Of course, ESPN is also airing the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race later that night on one of its networks at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Okay, the American Le Mans race is on ABC, not sure if it's live or SDD.

The IndyCar race is on VERSUS although I fully expect WJZ CBS Baltimore to pick it up in the local area.
