Well, the big announcement is that next year in June 9-11, 2011 is that the series will run 2 twin races that day at Texas Motor Speedway. Each race being 275 km long and the winner of each race will get half the total of points you can get in a normal race.

It will be the Twin 275's. Each race will be 171 miles/114 laps.

Im personally not all that excited about it. I say leave it the way it is, 1 race.

To me its nothing but a gimmick or publicity stunt. It's a cheap way of trying to add a race to the schedule. Why dont he just take all 18 races and divide them in half so they can say we run a 36 race schedule like NASCAR.

Sorry Mr. Bernard, you can cut it however you want, call it whatever you want, but its still 1 track, 1 venue, and 1 race.

I agree. This is stupid. The only way this could be a good thing was if they had one race on the oval, and the other on the roval layout. I think that would be pretty cool.

I wonder do you have to buy 2 tickets to see these races or does 1 get you in to see both.

Whoa! Eddie Gossage involved in publicity stunt? Unbelieavable!

I think this is actually an interesting idea that could get some more eyes on an IndyCar race. It will be interesting to see drivers racing hard for the win from the start of each race that day since they will be short races. And counting half points in each race so the whole race weekend equals one points paying race will still make it a pretty even playing field for the championship.

I think it is pretty cool , especially if they invert the field after the first race based on where you finish. They do this type of thing up here in the North East with the Mods once in a while. It makes for interesting racing. I'd like to see more races on the schedule though.
