Veteran NASCAR crew chief Bill Ingle has been appointed crew chief for Ward Burton's No. 0 Chevrolets by Haas CNC Racing. Tony Furr will move to the role of shop foreman. Ingle had been overseeing preparation of the team's Cup and Busch series cars.
"Essentially, we just swapped their positions," said Joe Custer, general manager of Haas CNC Racing. "Obviously this team is not performing as well as we would like and we are very lucky to have the kind of depth we have here at Haas CNC Racing. Both Tony and Bill are more than capable of handling both of these roles."

Now here's a good spot for Fatback. I'll bet he could bring alot to the table for this team. I think they need some fresh ideas from some of the front running teams. Ward has the Talent, HMS supplies the motors so I think a lot of the problems are in the cars they are building.

Wasn't McSwain the crew chief for Ricky Rudd when Rudd drove for Yates ??? I seem to recall there was a bit of fussing on that team at the time and an altercation with a crew member and Rudd.

If my memory hasn't failed of crossed a wire and my recollection is correct, perhaps there is a thing with McSwain. In the role of crew chief there is tremendous pressure to perform and hold things together. Perhaps McSwain lets the pressures get to him when things don't go right.

If this be the case maybe his status as crew chief for a high profile team is limited to smaller teams with lesser demands on performance.

Since this is all supposition on my part, must wait for the posters with a greater memory bank and instant recall.

You are right Whizz, i remember Fatback on more than 1 occasion getting all riled up over situation on the track or in the pits. Fatback punching the rollbox with all the tools comes to mind, can't remember what track it was , but i think it was when he was with Rudd.
