I survived being a bus driver for almost 5 years, that is the way it should be done. But you are right, I would have been fired for any of three different things. Closing the door on that sorry bastards arm, we were supposed to make sure they had a way out, having a weapon, although I had a gun and a knife, I could have been fired for having them, so what, I ain't dying by hood rat, and hitting a passenger before they hit me first. That was text book on how it should be done, cops right there to apprehend and prosecute. the sorry outfit I worked for wouldn't even prosecute assaults on drivers or passengers.
 
Karma would have been his caught in the door with his body outside, then dragged a bit before falling loose and getting run over by the rear wheels, Just sayin' & not in a bad way.
Then his momma could say "he was a good boy...."
