I got this from Jayskis site.

If #8 team closes, Truex could be free agent..to Gibbs? UPDATE Bass Pro Shops not leaving: The buzz in the garage has Earnhardt Ganassi Racing shutting down the #8 Chevy and sidelining Aric Almirola after this weekend if a sponsor doesn't magically appear. If that happens, three contracts are affected: #1-Martin Truex Jr., Bass Pro Shops Racing and Chevy. Truex's contract states that he must have two teammates or he can leave the team. Bass Pro Shops has a performance clause and with Truex 28th in owner points, the #1 team is in a precarious position. Finally, Chevy can alter its support to EGR if three teams are not under the roof. The hot rumor at Martinsville last week had Truex replacing Joey Logano in the #20 Home Depot Toyota. Joe Gibbs Racing president J.D. Gibbs insisted Sunday and again by phone on Wednesday that "Joey's our guy. We haven't had any conversations with anyone," Gibbs said. "We'd like to have someone in line by summer time, but you have to sit down, look at what partner is available, what driver is available and who would be a good fit for the team. We had [#96] Hall of Fame last year and we don't have it now. So we have room for a fourth team. We'd love to have it."

that's all assuming those are factual clauses. If so...I think Truex is gone by June.

Does that mean he's a goner:p

I still say they are pushing Joey too hard. He should have spent at least one full year in Nationwide. He will be a good driver someday but not so fast.

Totally agree. Hope they don't ruin the kid.

They were kicking this around on ESPN's Sunday morning show. It'd be pretty embarrasing if they have to send Logano back down after all the hoopla.

Yeh no kidding, and you wonder if he will be able to bounce back? Maybe this will make teams think twice about bringing up kids too fast the next time a sitaution like this arises.

It won't.

IMHO no 18 y o belongs in a Cup car. I don't care of he was a go-kart champ at 7.

I can't recall anyone brought to cup at a young age then went to Busch or truck then returned to Cup successfully. Can you?

Maybe they will give Dale Jr, the #8 back.:D

I wonder if that's why he keeps driving by his pit stall. He's looking to pit in the #8 stall rather than the #88 and when he gets to those pits there's already a car sitting there. Maybe you can't teach an old dog new tricks...

By George you might be on to something here. LOL:beerbang:

Did any of you see JR's pit crew waving at him last Sunday as he drove past his pit stall? It was funny as HECK! :D
