HVM Racing has signed on Nelson Philippe for this year's Indy 500.

It also appears that Sarah Fisher has teamed up with Forsythe Racing for this year's Indy 500.

This is shaping up to be an exciting month of May. I cant wait. I'll be down there everyday the track is open. Some days I will be working, other days I will be playing.:)

I just hope that they can get a decent amount of track time in before qualifying. The weather is going to do it's usual damage, but hopefully it will be minimal this year.

And Conquest is suposed to make an announcement tommarow regarding there 2 cars. 1 is expected to be Alex Taglinani since they entered him in rookie orientation.

Some notable times for the rookie orientation program today at the Speedway were...

Paul Tracy ran the quickest lap of 40.3426 seconds or 223.069 mph. Scott Sharp ran a lap of 40.5628 seconds or 221.878 mph. Robert Doornbos recorded a lap of 40.5889 seconds or 221.735 mph.

I just got back from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Man, it rained all day. The teams did not get any practice time in today. I did however get to hangout a lot in Danica's garage. Got to talk to her for quite awhile as well as her team. Her new car looks great.

She asked me " So how do you like my new colors ?"

When do things get started in earnest? I know they've shortened the schedule.

And I like Danica's new colors.

This Friday is fast friday and they draw for qualifications order. Then Saturday, the 10th, they qualify for positions 1-11. On Sunday, they qualify for positions 12-22. Then next Saturday, (16th), they qualify for positions 23-33. Then Sunday (17th), its bump day.

Here is a picture of me and Danica taken today in her garage at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Danica just went out again and made a 2nd qualifying attempt. This move put her at P7.

Tony Kanaan's attempt was disqualified due to weight requirement so he will have to try again.

Ryan Briscoe is your current pole sitter.

See Kanaan's car getting ready for another run. You ain't kidding, that's ugly:eek:

Wow, quick re run for Graham!
Tracy out now, will he re run today?

Congrats to Helio!
and a nice late run by Alex Loyd to get spot #11. It's good to see Paul Tracy back at Indy, I'm glad to see he should easily and comfortably get in the show tomorrow.

Man, I was holding my breath for John Andretti. And he made it.

Got a tickle out of Tony texting some advice.

Congrats to John!! I tell ya, the drama of today is why I watch bump day every year. Poor Tagliani, but great for Hunter-Ray with that last lap that got him in the show.
:beerbang:

Conquest will replace Bruno Junqueira with Alex Tagliani for the 500. Now, Alex will be driving the #36 car. Im not sure about this move.

I dont like this at all. Bachlert and his 34 team had 3 chances to do something today and did nothing. He had plenty of chances, when the day started and Duno and Phillipe two drivers that wherent anywhere near 220 cracked the 220 mark he should of known the team would have to go out again. As the day went on Conway, Viso, and Sheckter where all behind him in speed and all went back out and went ahead of him. Knowing all this was happening he had a chance to go back out there and go faster but the team chose not to. And when they went into the qualifying line they withdrew the car twice. I say the team needs to lump it and accept they made a mistake and they shouldnt be in the race. But due to contract ($$$$$$$$$$) issues he gets back in for taking over for Bruno who did a tremendous job of qualifying a car he jumped in today and only ran 5 practice laps. If its a a sponsor problem why not put the 34's sponsor on the 36 and let Bruno race. This is a classless move by conquest, i know Tagliani doesnt want to take Bruno's chance away from him so im not mad at him. But team owner Eric Bachlert had 4 days and 3 attemps each day and he couldnt get it done with the 34 to bad. Also why switch driver Tagliani and conquest didnt run Kansas so there not worried about points. I dont wish any harm for Tagliani but im wanting to see this team finish last at indy.
