Well, more good news for the IndyCar Series, starting at Kentucky this weekend, they have added push-to-pass on the cars as well as the other options listed above. This is another option for the drivers. They are really listening to the fans and are starting to hopefully provide the real side-by-side exciting racing and passing again.

Im sure we all know what push-to-pass is. If not, its basically a button on the steering wheel that the driver can push to give them a burst of extra horespower. Each driver will have 20 presses available each lasting up to 12 seconds. The richer of fuel mixture you are running, the less horsepower you will get. A driver can get from 5hp to 20hp depending on the fuel setting they are using.

Im glad I will be at Kentucky this weekend.

IndyCar needs to add the lucky dog rule so we can have more than 6 cars on the lead lap at the end of oval races...

As proved by the F1's failed KERS, this will be all but worthless on road/street courses.

However, this could be a huge improvement on the oval tracks. I don't see it helping much on the shorter tracks like Richmond, but the 1.5 mile tracks like Texas and Chicagoland should see more passing.
