WOOHOO!!! This is the race I've been waiting for! See that yellow line on the track map? Look for me about 27 rows up from the track very close to that yellow line. Awesome seats!

:D:beerbang::growl:

Ana Beatriz will be in the #24 Dad's Root Beer car for Dreyer & Reinbold Racing for this race. Glad to see her back.

IndyCar will adjust thier qualification procedure for this race as well as the 3 other remaining oval events following (Kentucky, Twin Ring Motegi, Homestead).

They will now take the speed of 2 consecutive timed laps. They will have 2 warm-up laps and then the 2 timed laps. They used to take the speed of 4 timed laps.

The reason for the change is the increased number of cars entered in the events. This new 2 lap strategy will shorten practice by like 33%.

I'll have to remember to watch. The Chicago IRL race is usually one of the best races all year in all of motorsports. Never a dull moment.

Not to mention VERSUS usually offers outstanding coverage.

Yes this is usualy the most exciting Indycar race of the season to me and I really like Versus coverage even better than Nascar's many network coverages. Only problem I have with Versus is they pick the worst time to go to commericals, like last weekend with 5 laps to go.

An article in the Indy Star says this is likely the last time the IZOD IndyCar Series will race at Chicago.:(

They got rid of Fontana and Michigan, now Chicago?

Unfortunately, I can't read the whole article because they have an annoying ad for the MotoGP race that pops up in the middle of the page with no way to close it out.

Okay, here's what the article said. The June 4th race isn't likely to be a NASCAR/IRL doubleheader because Chicagoland Speedway appears to be inking a deal with ARCA to run that weekend.

Also expected to vanish from the IRL schedule are Watkins Glen, Homestead and Kansas -- all ISC owned courses.

The IRL is smoking crack again. Isn't this one of the better attended races?

I've put up with a lot of stupidity from the IRL but this is the final straw...If the IRL drops Chicagoland then I drop the IRL. I'll spend all my racing money on local tracks. Screw them.

It looks to me like this is ISC/NASCAR and not IRL.

Good race. Unfortunately the call for Danica not to take tires backfired. Her tires fell off fast causing her to lose a lot of places..

the last half of this race was great (no comment on the first half because i didn't see it). i felt bad for will power losing because of a bad pit but that happens sometimes. it certainly made for an exciting finish. is dario/chip lucky or what? gutsy call taking only fuel on the last pit stop. power and dario have a heck of a points race going. i think dario is going to win it again. glad sarah had a nice showing. she done real good. :)

This was quite the race to see in person...Will post pictures sometime. Seats were great and having it at night is soooo much better than the last time I was there baking in the Illinois sun in the middle of the afternoon.

Eager to see your pics.

I really enjoyed the race last night. Nice close finish.:beerbang:

Awesome sunset
Walking out to the car I turned around and saw this

Didn't go to the pits, get autographs or anything like that. Meeting celebrities however cool they may be doesn't really do anything for me.

Cool pics Dionysious,....always cool to see pics. Your family looks cool.....your brother however....is he OK?..Lol

You were in the stands watching it live while I'm at my computer watching it online from new Zealand:angry:...somhow it doesn't seem fair

5 girls in the race and not one finished in the top 10, dang. did anyone see Milka finish in the top 20, they should've let her pull into victory lane for just being able to finish...

Other than Danica, none of those women are on the big money teams (Andretti, Gennassi & Penske).

Sarah Fisher had a decent showing by hanging with the big boys for 20 (or whatever it was) laps. Even though she was out of sync with the leaders in pit stops she did demonstrate she has the skills to stay up front. If she could just get a sponsor for full time 2 car team she'd rock.

Milka on the other hand was the moving chicane yet again. It absolutely blows my mind that she did not cause a huge wreck when the lead pack passed her toward the end of the race. I remember hearing over the scanner, Marco's spotter telling him, "They just told Milka to go low and the pack pass high." Did she do that? Of course not. I held my breath as I saw the top ten whiz by her on both sides because she either ignored her spotter or she's too stupid to know what "low" means on an oval. Mark my words (again) if the IRL does not act soon, there will be a huge wreck because of Milka's incompetence.

If you ever get a chance to see one of these races in person...do it. It is worth every penny.

Clutch...We've been wondering about my bro for many many years. ;) Actually, he's a great guy and awesome father with a whacky sense of humor.

I couldn't watch the race Sat. night, is there a repeat showing of the race shown anywhere? If so does anyone know the channel and time?

TIA
